Liberal Bumper Stickers

Have you ever wondered why the mainstream media shows such disdain for bumper stickers? People in dominant publications often seem to take outright offense at the very idea of bumper stickers, as if there's something inherently wrong with people expressing their opinions with stickers on the backs of their cars.

The way I see it, people in the mainstream media are used to having people listen to them, in an attitude of dependence The idea that people can express their own opinions is threatening to those who make a living from having people passively listen to them.

For the insider political pundits who like to make declarations about how the rest of the country thinks about political issues, it is downright galling to see ordinary people like you and me defying their pronouncements and speaking for ourselves.

Remember the Iraq War, and how all those insiders sneered at us liberal activists who tried to prevent America from invading Iraq? Our bumper stickers were right, and the newspapers were wrong. Maybe America needs more liberal bumper stickers out on the street, to counter the dangerous agenda of the rich and powerful in D.C.
