RIght after he got done using liberal support to gain the Democratic presidential nomination, Barack Obama turned his back on us, supporting George W. Bush on government spying and faith-based initiatives, and heaping praise on the death penalty and hand guns.
Barack Obama has broken his promises and violated his Oath of Office to defend the Constitution. Obama has joined the enemies of the Constitution, and that's why liberals are now against Obama.

Just a few weeks ago, Barack Obama attacked John McCain for supporting expanded offshore drilling for crude oil along America's ecologically sensitive coasts. "Senator McCain's decision to team up with George Bush on offshore drilling violates the bipartisan consensus that we have had for decades that has protected Florida's pristine coastline from drilling"
Obama was right to say that. It's just too bad Obama couldn't take his own advice. On August 1st, 2008, Barack Obama announced that he would join George W. Bush and John McCain to support expanded offshore drilling for oil.
It's what the big oil companies wanted, to boost their record-breaking profits even higher. Barack Obama now seems eager to give the oil companies whatever they want.

The FISA Amendments Act lets a presidential administration spy on and even search the home of anyone, anywhere for 67 days without a warrant, without justification to anyone at all. And even if a judge disapproves after those 67 days, the president can keep the information he gained, forever.
That violates the 4th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which reads:

There are still many liberal Americans who, in spite of all the broken promises, believe that President Obama is going to make everything all right. They've become desperate apologists, trying to explain why it's okay that Obama is embracing so many of George W. Bush's outrageous attacks on the Constitution - Big Brother spying, extraordinary rendition, torture, secrecy, "faith-based intitiatives", and marriage discrimination.
I understand what they're going through. It's difficult to go from such great hope to such profound disappointment. Still, it's important to start the conversation. What do we do now that Barack Obama has let us liberals down?
