Live Through Divorce, Live After Divorce

So it's over... You've signed the divorce decree and got it stamped by the judge. You are divorced. You are free. What now?

Post Divorce Depression? You Will Survive!

Remember that every change in life is for the better!

Your marriage is in the past as well as long months of frustration and uncertainty, and, although you feel sort of relieved about all this exhaustive divorce hustle being finally over, you are still depressed, you are lost as you don't really know how to go on your own. "Will I ever be ready to start new relationships?" "Will I ever be happy?" "What if no one will ever love me again." "What if I stay alone for the rest of my life?" These may be the thoughts that come to your mind, making you feel very lonely.

Most of the people who have just come through a divorce have depression. In fact divorce stands next to war in terms of the intensity of stress. Add to that the gnawing feeling of guilt (both conscious and unconscious) that always accompanies the split of family relationships, the fear about the future of your children.

At this point you have to understand that your depression is a natural reaction to the stress that the divorce has brought on. Just give yourself some time, let your subconscious forces accumulate and digest the hurt caused by the divorce. Remember - time is the best cure and after a while you'll discover that there's a whole new world opening for you. You will see that life still has lots of wonderful opportunities in store and there is so much for you to look forward to.

However if you are having really hard time living through your post divorce depression - don't hesitate and ask for help! There are plenty of divorce support communities where you can meet understanding and supportive people. Tell your story or just read the stories of others - you will understand that you are not alone. Whatever happens, remember every change in life is for the better - and you will definitely survive!
