"My Life Sucks!"...

...or words to that effect.

Every time you see some people they give you the next installment in the on-going saga of their "everything bad happens to me" life! You know - the overly-demanding job, the unreasonable partner, the money troubles, the health problems, etc.

We might even catch ourselves complaining sometimes!

"Life's Not Fair - Get Used To It!"

Sorry - I know this may sound harsh - but honestly, complaining about it won't change anything!

There's a good chance we are at least partly responsible for creating the problem in the first place.

We are certainly responsible for either taking action to solve it, or - if we really can't change it - accepting it and getting on with our lives!

Think You've Got It Tough?

Look, I'm not saying you don't have problems - hey, we've all got problems. I'm simply saying that it is up to you how you choose to look at them. You can let the problem be bigger than you - or - you can decide to be bigger than the problem.

This short video shows you where I'm coming from...

If A Blind, Crippled Guy Can Play In A Marching Band...

I still remember my reaction the first time I saw this video - "Hell - if a blind, crippled guy can play in a marching band, then what could I do?" (and why aren't I doing it already?)!

Clearly, both Patrick and his dad have some serious challenges they face every single day - but neither of them waste time wallowing in self-pity. They choose instead to look for the gifts in their situations. Possibilities, not disabilities - great relationships rather than responsibilities.

Choose Your Focus

If you focus on difficulties and challenges, they have a tendency to grow bigger in your mind. They can become so big and terrifying that they paralyze you and prevent you from taking action.

If instead - like Patrick and his dad - you shift your focus to positives and possibilities, then those positives will grow bigger instead - and give you the power to overcome whatever challenges you face.

If Patrick Can Do It...

Patrick's story shows us that there are limitless possibilities in life.

We really can do whatever we set our mind to - if we'll just stop complaining and get on with it!
