Work life balance with life coaching

If you're struggling to maintain a balance between your work and life, read on to find out how life coaching can help you.

Working far too many hours 

Do you hardly have a personal or family life and never seem to have enough time for the things you enjoy? This is common and many people feel trapped by it, thinking there isn't much they can do about it. However, there often is a lot you can do and if you're ready to change this, a life coach can help you to achieve this. Sometimes it can be just some small changes that can have a huge impact on the amount of work you're doing. Just imagine what it would be like to leave work even just 30 minutes earlier than you do now.

A life coach starts by working out what with you what your idea of a balanced life would look like, feel like and be like. They encourage you to start dreaming and see your life the way you want it to be. Then the coach helps you to identify the gap between the present and where you ideally want to be. From there an action plan is agreed and the coach supports you in consistently taking these actions until you have more balance in your life.

Boss demanding too much of you 

Is part of the problem of working long hours that your boss demands and expects too much of you? May be you just don't know how to say enough is enough or have the confidence to stand up to your boss. What is often needed is to build up your confidence, communication skills and learn to be more assertive.

Life coaches help you to take the steps forward with building confidence and they can act as a partner as you practice your communication skills and being more assertive. Its a safe environment for you to practice and learn while the coach gives you constructive feedback. Also a life coach will help you to identify what is a reasonable amount of work to be doing for you job and help you to see what if any help is needed. If any of these feels scary, then life coaches encourage you to take smaller steps, working at your own pace.

A lot going on in your personal life 

For some people their life balance is thrown out when there are stressful things going on in their personal life and this leaves them with little time or energy or chilling out and doing things they enjoy. Perhaps you're in the middle of a very stressful divorce, a close relative is seriously ill or a new baby has arrived . A lot has suddenly changed changed in your personal life and its left you struggling to be able to get everything done. Although this can be a difficult time, life coaches can offer you ideas and strategies to handle it well.

Life coaching can help you to work out your priorities in your personal life so that you can spend your time on the more important things, and accept that at this time in your life, some things will need to be put on hold, or take a back seat. Your life coach will help to ensure you get what you need to keep a healthy mind and body during these challenging times so that you're able to handle them to their best of your ability.
