Slac presents Lifeforall-Pakistan

SLAC officially presents the charity "Lifeforall-Pakistan"here on squidoo. We help them to get known on the internet as they do not have much funds for promotion. Through a good friend in Great Britain we got to know them in Pakistan. They help poor Christians in Pakistan who suffer much under the new "Aposty and Blasphemy-laws". The accusation of "blaspheming against the Prophet Mohammad" is very often used against non-muslims to take revenge or advantage of their belongings. They have no chance of a fair trial. Even if they are judged innocent paid murderers will hunt and try to kill them after being set free again.

Call to Ban the Bible

More persecution ahaed

On the 30 of may this year there was a new trial put before the Supreme Court. Islamic clerics said that there are "insertions" in the Bible what strongly offend believing Muslims. So it needs to be banned for "blasphemy" and "pornographic" content.
For this time the cause is canncelled. But that does not mean it will be come law later.
The reason is the "church" in Florida what burned the Quran publicly.

Two women manhandled

Two more shocking cases have surfaced in Punjab the hub of extremism and hatred towards the Christians. Two Christian women, Nusrat Bibi and Muneeran Bibi are female sanitary workers at the Fatima Memorial Hospital Lahore, Pakistan.

A source from the Fatima Memorial hospital said that Nusrat Bibi and Muneeran Bibi were assaulted and unlawfully detained for several hours by a Muslim officer at the medical facility.

First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against the medical officer at the Ichchra Police Station, Lahore.

According to the sources, the man allegedly snatched a cellphone from Nusrat Bibi and money from Muneeran Bibi, when the women resisted, he began assaulting Muneeran Bibi. Then Nusrat Bibi was slapped and attacked with a wooden stick which the alleged attacker had pulled out from a stand placed in his room. He also tore up her shirt when she raised an objection to their physical search.

"They were kept in illegal detention for about 9 hours," said the source.

According to the hospital administration, Nusrat Bibi and Muneeran Bibi were allegedly accused of theft, but nothing was recovered from them.

Activist from Life for All, Mr. Rizwan Paul said, " This is indeed a brutal act, the victims must be provided justice, the accused must pay for the inhuman act. Both the women are sanitary workers, but they are human beings as well, they are not animals. They had said that they had not stolen anything, then why werent they trusted? Because they are Christians, just because they are Christians, they were subjected to brutality. We strongly condemn the act and demand from the authorities to take immediate action."

In another disturbing case, Jalal Pur Jattan a town located in the Gujrat District, Punjab, Pakistan allegedly a Muslim group on the behest of a former MPA (Member Provincial Assembly) invaded two Christian houses in the city.

Father Naveed Dominic an activist from Jalal Pur Jatta said, " The local former MPA had his eyes on the agricultural land in the heart of Jalal Pur Jatta, this land belongs to the local Christians, they had been receiving threats from various groups to vacate the land, but they didnt."

The group threw out the belongs and physically assaulted the women present in the houses. The locals tried to contact the police, but they refused to get involved.

Father Dominic further said, " The Church is also being pressurized not to get involved in the matter, the authorities have kept a deaf ear to the matter. The hatred towards the Christians and the growing cases of persecution have been reported to the authorities from time to time, but the authorities dont seem to take interest."

Christian nurse - Farah Hatim 24 - kidnapped

To force her into Islam

Farah Hatim 24, D/o Hatim Gill ( Late) has been a student nurse at the Sheikh Zaid Medical College in Rahim Yar Khan in the South Punjab. She has been working at the Orthopedic ward, on 8th May 2011, around 7am Farah Hatim left for the duty, she was allegedly kidnapped by Zeehan Iliyas from the Jinnah park near the Sheikh Zahid Medial College.

According to Bilquees Marriam ( Farah Hatim`s mother) Zeeshan Iliyas has been working as a office boy at the UBL ( United Bank Limited) and had been threatening Farah Hatim to convert and marry him. Marriam stated, " Zeehan Iliyas and his brothers Imran and Gulfam who also work at a local bank helped him in kidnapping my daughter." She further said that this family kidnaps Christian girls and forcefully converts them, they are supported by the local MNAs ( Member National Assembly) of the leading political party.

Bilquees Marriam along with her four daughters and two sons went to the police station to file a complaint at the B- Division City Police Station. The application has been submitted by Huma Hatim, Seher Hatim, Summar Hatim, Amber Hatim, Qasim Gill and Hashim Gill. Initially they were not entertained. SHO ( Station House Officer) B-Division Police Station Nazir Shah tore the application and asked them to leave as nothing can be done. The victim`s family gathered the Christian Community and protested outside the SP ( Superintendent Police) office and demanded to arrest the culprits and recover the kidnapped girl.

The police tried to scatter the protesters they used force, they injured several protesters. The victims`s family was threatened of dire consequences. But the family didnt give up they gathered again and demanded a meeting with SP Ashraf Gujjar. Finally SP Gujjar agreed to have a meeting and the Hatim Family explained the whole situation and demanded to get the FIR ( First Information Report) registered. SP Ashfaq Gujjar instructed the SHO ( Station House Officer) B-Division Police Station to register a FIR on the application submitted by the family.

The Christian community gathered outside the B-Divison Police Station, but the SHO Nazir Shah delayed FIR, providing time to the culprits to take Farah Hatim to the to district courts and forced her to give a statement in the presence of Juctice Khurshid Shah that she has converted with her consent and wants to marry Zeehan Ilyas. This was to provide legal cover to the culprits. At this point the justice didnt question Farah Hatim, nor she had signed the statement, she was injured, the judge even ignored the injuries.

The Victim`s family has ruled out the forced statement, Barrister Zahid Hussain a legal expert from Rahim Yar Khan said, "legally when such a statement is given at the district court, the judge send everyone out and questions only the person, if the statement given is under pressure or by consent, but in this case the court room was filled with the people who kidnapped her and assaulted her. Even the SHO Nazir Shah was present there, the judge even ignored the fact that Farah Hatim was injured, he didnt question her about the wounds, she didnt even sign the statement, this clearly shows that she was forced to give the statement and the whole system is supporting and protecting the culprits."

On 10th May 2011, the victim`s family gave another application to SP Ashfaq Gujjar and told him that the SHO Shah is threatening them, SP Gujjar visited the B-Division and got the FIR Registered. SHO Nazir Shah registered the FIR. Case No. 150/11 US/ 365-B CR.PC. The FIR is against three culprits, but not as stated in the application. So far the police has not arrested anyone.

Human Rights Activist Mr. Rizwan Paul from Life for All visited Rahim Yar Khan, met the victimized family, assured the support and took them to the DCO ( District Coordination Office) Rahim Yar Khan. DCO Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi has assured his support to the family and directed the SP Ashfaq Gujjar to arrest the culprits and recover the kidnapped girl and present her at the district court and get the statement again. Mr. Paul said, " The south Punjab is the safe heaven for the extremists, the number of the cases of persecution are the highest in South Punjab. There are many cases that go unreported. Unfortunately the administration is protecting the culprits, the local politicians are also protecting them. Hatred for the Christians is common here, most of them are treated as animals. We have highlight several cases of forced conversions and brought it in the notice of the authorities, but they put a deaf ear over it. Last year during the flood relief activities, gross discrimination was witnessed in Rahim Yar Khan with the religious minorities."

Save Asia Bibi

A 37-year-old Pakistani woman from the village of Ittanwali, was arrested by police on Friday, June 19, and faces possible blasphemy charges. Asia is the wife of 50-year-old Ashiq Masih, and their family is one of only three Christian families in a village of more than 1,500 families.

Many of the local women work on the farm of Muslim landowner Muhammad Idrees, including Asia. During their work many of the Muslim women have pressured Asia to renounce Christianity and accept Islam. In June, the pressure became especially strong.

On Friday, June 19, there was an intense discussion among the women about their faith, with the Muslim women telling Asia about Islam. Asia responded by telling them about her faith in Christ. Asia told the Muslim women Christ had died on the cross for our sins, then asked them what Mohammed had done for them, according to LFA sources. She told them Jesus is alive, but Mohammed is dead. "Our Christ is the true prophet of God," she reportedly told them, "and yours is not true." Upon hearing this response the Muslim women became angry and began to beat Asia Bibi. Then some men came and took her and locked her in a room. They announced from mosque loudspeakers that she would be punished by having her face blackened and being paraded through the village on a donkey. Local Christians informed the police, who took Asia into custody before the Muslims could carry out their plan.

She is currently being held at the District Jail Sheikhpura. Life for All urges Christians around the world to pray for Asia Bibi and her family. Further, we call on the Pakistani government to insure that the rights of Christians like Asia are protected.

It's so sad to see the world in such discord...why can't we live in peace, no matter what religion or belief you have...it's all a choice, and I choose to be a Christian, a follower of Christ...without Him I would be nothing.
