A More Positive Way of Being

A good friend of mine gave me this list a few years ago and I felt like sharing it with all of you.

A Gift From A Friend

A few years back, I was having some issues over a lot of different things. Business was down and my money was funny. I broke off my engagement to a beautiful cougar who was 10 years older than me and rich.

I really was actually in love with her and she had actually been the one to propose marriage to me. I couldn't go through with it though, because we had only known each other for two months and I just honestly felt that I wasn't good for her. I was only 27 for pete's sake and was too much of a hardcore partier. She was a 37 year old doctor and former women's health spa owner, 100 % Italian and sooo beautiful that it I used to simply wonder at my good fortune.

It really hurt me to leave her. It wasn't that I wasn't good Enough for her, but that I was No Good for her. I was barely able to take care of myself at that time and I loved her enough to not allow her to marry the man I was then.

To be plain, I was just a mess. I was hanging out with my friends rooi much, going clubbing too much, dabbling too much in the whole social drug scene. My finances were in utter ruins and I just didn't know what was going to happen.

A good friend and business associate of mine sent me this list one day. She knew what I was going through and told me that I was thinking bad. She said that when things are just going all wrong, it's because I'm thinking all wrong. Anyways, longer story short, I got myself together, and decided to start acting and living like a man again instead of a punk.

The list of "Thoughts To Live By" really kind of made sense to me after a while. It was so honest and true when you focused on the meaning behind each of the most important things. This list is something that stays with me wherever I may be or wherever I may go. I have decided to share this list with you and hope it will put things in the perspective which you might need in order to bring some peace of mind and spirit. It works for me.
