Lightning Detector
Thunderstorm or simply a storm is an earth's phenomena characterized by a lightning and strong sound effects or thunder. A cloud type named cumulonimbus assigned had accompanied with the thunderstorm. This natural assigned are commonly associated heavy rain, strong winds, sleet, hail or snow. All phenomenon which cause hail to fall are known as hailstorms.
I am a being of Heaven and Earth, of thunder and lightning, of rain and wind, of the galaxies.

The Types of Lightning Detector
1. Mobile systems using a direction
2. Ground-based systems using multiple antennas
3. A sense antenna in the same location (often aboard an aircraft), and space-based systems.
Mobile lightning detectors and ground-based systems calculate the direction and strength of lightning from the real location using radio direction-finding techniques together. This calculation completed by analysis of the characteristic frequencies emitted by lightning. Mobile systems estimate distance using signal frequency and attenuation.
Ground-based lightning detector systems using triangulation from multiple regions to calculate distance. These devices are applied by the National Weather Service in United States and the Meteorological Service of Canada. The organizations like forest fire prevention services and electrical utilities also use these tools.
Space-based lightning detectors devices, on artificial satellites, can locate bearing, intensities and range by direct observation.

Personal Lightning Detector
How To Build A Personal Lightning Detector
Theory of operation:
For receiving energy from lightning, we need a 10 pF capacitor antenna and 2 series inductors form a resonant tank at about 300 kHz. The inductors act as a partner network, giving Q1 with a lower impedance version of the signal lightning received by the antenna. The 270k resistor lowers the Q of the resonant tank to prevent oscillation. Q1 amplifies the 300 kHz bursts and applies the larger signal to the base of a PNP transistor that forms a monostable "flasher" circuit with the last NPN transistor. When the RF signal pulls the PNP base voltage below the voltage on the 10 uF capacitor (plus about 0.6 volts) the PNP turns on, turning on the NPN. Since the NPN is connected to the base of the PNP through the 82 k resistor, the PNP turns on even harder. This regenerative action causes the circuit to turn on quickly and fully, pulling the "pulses" line to nearly zero volts. The circuit stays on until the 10 uF capacitor discharges at which point a similar reverse regenerative action causes the circuit to quickly switch off. The capacitor then quickly charges through the 1k resistor (in one of the lamp circuit options) and the diode and is ready for another pulse.

What A Big Problem If A Man Was Struck by Lightning
What caused lightning hit in human body?
A lightning strike can caused in a cardiac arrest (heart stopping) at the time of the injury. Even some victims might survive a few days later if they are resuscitated but have suffered irreversible brain damage.
According to the NWS Storm Data, over the last 30 years the U.S. has averaged 55 reported lightning fatalities a year. Due to under reporting, the figures are more realistically at least 70 deaths per year. Only about 10% of people who are struck by lightning are killed, leaving 90% with various degrees of disability.
What Are the Medical Symptoms?
Immediate symptoms of Lightning Injury: Most victims experience only some of the symptons below.
* Short-term memory
* Problems coding new information and accessing old information
* Problems Multitasking
* Slower reaction time
* Distractibility
* Irritability
* Personality change
* Inattentive
* Forgetfulness
* Intense headaches
* Ringing in the ears
* Dizziness
* Nausea and vomiting and other post-concussion types of symptoms
* Difficulty sleeping, sometimes sleeping excessively at first and then only two or three hours at a time
Delayed Symptoms
* Seizure-like activity
* Pain from back injury or headaches
* Personality Changes/Self-Isolation
* Irritability and embarrasment because they can't remember people, job responsibilities and key information
* Difficulty carrying on a conversation
* Depression
Friends, family and co-workers who see the same external person, may not understand why the survivor is so different. Friends soon stop coming by or asking them to participate in activities. Families who are not committed to each other break up.
Medical Testing
There are two kinds of medical tests:
* Anatomic tests take an x-ray, CT scan and MRIs or blood count measurement. These tests often come back normal
* Functional tests show how something is working and are more useful: PET scan, neuropsychological testing
Four Factors Necessary for Recovery
The four most important factors in overcoming disability from lightning injury, or from any illness or major injury for that matter are:
* Having a supportive family/friends network.
* Becoming your own advocate and learning as much as you can about this disability.
* Finding a physician willing to listen, read, learn and work with the survivor and their family.
* Having a sense of humor.

Roy Sullivan
The man who survived seven lightning strikes
Roy Cleveland Sullivan (February 7, 1912 - September 28, 1983) was a park ranger in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia United States. Between 1942 and 1977, he was hit by lightning on seven different locations and survived all of them. For this reason, Sullivan gained a nickname "Human Lightning Conductor" or "Human Lightning Rod". Sullivan is recognized by Guinness World Records as the person struck by lightning more recorded times than any other human being. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 71 over an unrequited love.Virginia, where he lived, averages 35 to 45 thunderstorm days per year, most of which fall in June, July, and August. Between 1959 and 2000 lightning killed 58 people and injured at least 238 people in Virginia. In the United States, 3239 people were killed and 13,057 injured by lightning in the same period. Most of those were males between 20 and 40 years old caught outdoors.
Here where and when the lightning hit him:
Strike 1
Sullivan's first strike happened in 1942 while hiding from a thunderstorm in a fire lookout tower. The tower itself was hit eight times and inside the tower "fire was jumping all over the place". Sullivan ran outside and was immediately hit by lightning.
Strike 2
The second strike occurred in 1969, when he was driving his truck, a lightning struck a nearby tree and deflected into his open window. He was knocked unconscious and his eyebrows were burned off.
Strike 3
The third strike happened in 1970 when lightning struck a power transformer and jumped to his left shoulder.
Strike 4
He was hit again in 1972 while working at a ranger station. His hair caught fire in the process.
Strike 5
By now, Sullivan was convinced that a "dark force" was trying to kill him and he always had a can of water in his truck in case he gets struck by lightning again. In August 1973, he was patrolling the park when he saw a storm cloud forming. He drove away, but according to Sullivan, the cloud kept on following him. Sullivan was struck again, and he said that he could see the lightning bolt run through his body.
Strike 6
In June 1976, Sullivan was struck for the sixth time, injuring his ankle.
Strike 7
In June 1977, Sullivan was struck for the seventh and final time while out fishing. The lightning bolt hit his head, and travelled down his body, burning his chest.

Storm, A Female who Can Control Lightning
Storm is a hero character from Marvel Comics
Her real name is Ororo Iqadi Munroe-T'Challa and yes, Storm is a heroin who possesses the psionic ability to manipulate weather patterns over limited areas. Unfortunately, not such as Roy Sullivan, she is only lives in imagination, in movie screen and in comic books. Strom can stimulate the creation of any form of precipitation such as fog or rain, induce lightning and other electrical atmospheric phenomena, disperse natural storms so as to create clear change, generate winds in varying degrees of intensity up to and including hurricane force, lower or raise the humidity and temperature in her immediate vicinity. With her hands, she can direct the path of certain atmospheric effects, such as bolts of lightning. Storm has also demonstrated the ability to manipulate ocean currents, though the extent of this ability is still unclear.

- An FYI, the chance of a lightning strike is greater if:
Your home sits on a lot of land and is thus isolated from other structures.
Your home sits in close proximity to tall trees.
Your home is in a populated neighborhood but is taller than the homes around it.
In any of these cases, proper Lightning Protection is warranted to keep your costly electronics safe.
