Light Up Your Memories of Christmases Past...

A celebration of a lovely old town...

Hosted by the Elizabethtown Heritage Council, Light Up Old Towne will begin with the Christmas Parade at 5:00 pm Saturday November 21st, leading up to the lighting of the Public Square. Highlights will be a visit from Santa, and a seventy foot train display!

The Parade will start at Rose's Shopping Center and wind it's way down W. Dixie to the Courthouse Square, to end with the lighting of the Christmas Tree and a reading of "The Night Before Christmas" with Santa Claus!

Be Met With Unusual Music

I'll be there playing the ancient and beautiful Celtic Harp

Come see me on West Dixie for the rest of the festival as I busk near the State Theater and the shops with my celtic harp! I have played Cletic music for more than thirty years, performing in Celtic and Renaissance festivals and gatherings in the southeast and midwest, and in Scotland! Now, I perform a very special improvised music called freesong. To find out more about my music, visit the link below:

The Harper's Music

Come see the unusual prayer kites the peddler carries in her basket, and listen to the music of a time long gone by...

While you enjoy the celebration...

think about the possibilities for our downtown's future...

So many changes have come into the world, but there are some things worth preserving. Elizabethtown's beautiful downtown deserves to be a center of history, art, entertainment, fine food, and very good times. As Hardin County and E-town itself both continue to grow, don't forget the jewel we have right in its center. Come be a part of Elizabethtown's past, present and its future, by taking part in reviving Old E-town!

The windows of downtown will be lit with beautiful displays for the holidays, sponsored by different businesses, organizations and individuals throughout the area. Come see who is taking part in E-town's future by sponsoring a celebration of its history...
