(Lil) Green Patch is a Facebook application developed by David King that simulates a small garden on a Facebook users profile, by tending their and their friends' gardens the facebook users are able to raise money for Nature Conservancy to save the rain forest.

Sponsors contribute money to save the Rainforests as you use this application. After expenses they will donate revenue to funding a portfolio of reforestation projects. The (Lil) Green Patch community, working together, was able to donate $210,000 to the Adopt An Acre program of the Nature Conservancy so far! See the donations here.

Ways to Get GreenBucks and Square Feet

Users can earn more GreenBucks by doing one or more of the following,
  • Log in daily

  • Tending (Lil) Green Patches of other members of the (Lil) Green Patch community

  • Selling plants in the Marketplace (5-15 gb per plant)

  • Catching butterflies and ladybugs in the (Lil) Green Patches (1-3 gb per catch)

  • Buy them
Greenbucks help you to buy items in the store. At this time the store allows your to buy supplies to tend the (Lil) Green Patches, themes to decorate your (Lil) Green Patch and decorations for your (Lil) Green Patch. Besides this, you can also use GreenBucks to buy gifts that you can give to owners of other (Lil) Green Patches.


Users can earn more square feet by doing one or more of the following,
  • Sending plants to their friends (For every 10 friends receiving a plant you earn 1 square foot)

  • Hosting a (Lil) Green Patch widget on their web pages like MySpace or Blogs

  • Filling out one of the offers in the application

  • Buy them

The Rainbow Game

Grab a Rainbow and Win

Just click on the rainbow to grab it from your friend's (Lil) Green Patch. The more time you hold on to the rainbow before someone grabs it from you, the more points you'll earn. Use map to chase your rainbow and once grabbed you can hide it behind the clouds. You can buy more grabs, maps and clouds in Crazy Al's store!


The first 100 winners will receive pot of gold for the first position, the next 500 winners will receive pot of gold for the second position and the third 1000 winners will receive pot of gold for the third position. Along with this all winners will receive 3000 GreenBucks!

The House


You can find your house under the "house" tab, at the right end, after the store, top grabbers, gallery tabs, etc. You can either buy more gold via paypal (click on the "+more gold" button near your gold and greenbucks stats - $1 for 10 gold) or fill out the surveys/offers (same link).

Under the house tab, you will find your house and a catalog in which you can buy things to decorate your house with using the gold. You can then re-arrange it in your house or store things in your garage.

    I have played this game recently I like it and your lens is very informative. Have you tried Farm Town it is a fun game to play and can come addictive quickly.     I would prefer to group my plants in the Green Patch as opposed to just having them in rows. There doesn't seem to be a way to do that since when I move a plant, it cannot be put where I want it other than the specified row/column. Why???

    You do not have to add me as a friend to see the photo albums. They are set to public. Just go to the discussion boards on the Facebook addition and look for the links. I keep them near the top so everyone can have a look.

    Honestly, I rarely use facebook because I can't seem to find the time, but this looks too fun to miss out on and it's for a wonderful cause. I'm going to check it out right now. Who knows, maybe I'll even beat my teenage daughter to finding a cool application. :)

    well, an easy way is to go to the lgp application, click on the "top greenies" tab in that green bar, scroll down to you and copy the "visit your green patch" link.
