My Hometown
I was born and raised in Lima, Ohio. After about 25 years of living here, I decided that it was time for a move and that move brought me to Central Florida. I would like to share a little bit about my hometown with you. I am going to use factual, and some funny facts to introduce you to Lima, Ohio. Just Where Is Lima?

Some Facts About Lima
Lima Was Founded In 1831
According to the U.S. Census Bureau the city has a total area of 12.9 square miles of which, 12.8 miles of it is land and .1 square miles of it is water. The Ottawa River flows through the city. Locals sometimes refer to this river as "Hawg Creek".As of the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, the city had a population of 40,081, consisting of 15,410 households, and 9,569 families residing in the city.

~ You wonder why the TB Hospital closed, and that its haunted/inhabited by the homeless drug dealers
~ You have called Lima "The Bean, Beantown, Bean City" and know that we have a city mascot named "Beanie" that is a giant green Lima Bean with a red hat displaying his name

~ You immediately conjure up a picture in your mind when someone says a person is from Shawnee, Bath, Elida, Lima Senior, LCC. Perry, or Delphos
~ You still wonder what happened to the big fountain in the middle of the Lima Mall

~ You went to the "Vortex" aka Night Moves with the 14 year olds (or was one fo them) that sneak in because there was nothing better to do
~ You've ever done donuts in a parking lot for an extended period of time
~ You catch yourself singing the "Pat's Donuts and Kreme" and "Yarger can do" jingle
~ You know that Kewpee has the best hamburgers on the planet
~ You actually know what LIMA stands for LOST IN MIDDLE AMERICA and that there's a movie about it
~ You go away to college and think it's weird that Jerry Lewis doesn't own all the McDonalds
~ In August everyone is singing "The Allen County Fair is here."
~ Every time you turn a corner you run into "preacher man, batman, or superman."
~ You are driving back into town at night and you use the glow from the refinery to guide you home
~ If you have ever been late because you got stuck by a train, either Cable Rd or Cole St because it crept along slowly, then backed up, then pulled forward, then backed up
~ If you know that Bowling Green State University was originally supposed to be built there, but we chose the insane asylum instead

- Well what can i say about good ole Lima..its not that bad of a town besides when everyone thought they were in a gang and when you would get stuck by a train on west vine by erbs poultry or better yet stuck by a train on bellefountaine avenue by lima memorial hospital b/c it gets stuck on a incline
