Music From The Lincoln Lawyer Movie Soundtrack Starring Matthew McConaughey
There are two Soundtracks for the Lincoln Lawyer movie available on Amazon.com and iTunes. There's one with the original motion picture score featuring music by composer Cliff Martinez (Traffic, Solaris) including a track titled "How's It Hangin' Counselor?"
The other Lincoln Lawyer OST cd includes music by Bobby 'Blue' Bland, Marcus "Seige" White, Erick Sermon featuring Marvin Gaye, Erik B. & Rakim, Kavinsky & Lovefoxxx, Ari Hest, Citizen Cope, Danny Chaimson & The 11th Hour, Colin Smith, Cinema Guitar Works, Setty & The Miracle, Deadmau5 & Kaskade, Gang Starr & Marlena Shaw.
I haven't been able to track down the details behind the story that composer John Frizzell was to do a replacement Soundtrack For The Lincoln Lawyer movie adaptation of the novel by Michael Connelly but then it was never used. If you know the inside scoop, please a note in the guestbook at the bottom of the page.
On author Michael Connelly's website on a video uploaded to YouTube he gives a ringing endorsement of Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Haller in the movie adaptation of his book and goes on to talk about how he got the idea for a lawyer who operates his law practice out of a car.

How Can You Buy Word Of Mouth?

How can you buy word of mouth? It's one of the most effective ways to promote a movie. Aside from promotional movie preview screenings, Hollywood executives have seldom given away tickets to simply fill seats. Enter viral marketing and Groupon. On opening weekend, Groupon subscribers were offered to attend The Lincoln Lawyer for only $6.
While it's been reported over 190,000 tickets were sold at half price for The Lincoln Lawyer, the more intriguing statistic is how many e-mails, Facebook posts, blogs and websites containing a link to the Groupon offer promoting The Lincoln Lawyer were forwarded. So even if people did not take advantage of the offer in time, the organic viral marketing was probably explosive and countless people were at least made aware of the movie's release which could help with potential box office and DVD sales in the future. Plus there's also the word-of-mouth generated from theater goers after the fact.
It's certainly a win-win for the studio and theater goers. If you paid only half price for your ticket, would you be more willing to recommend the movie? While the revenue is being reported as full price, I'm assuming, the attendance gets counted upon redemption not purchase as the ticket offer was valid for the entire movie's run.
As far as cannibalizing revenue, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com, 89 percent of Groupon buyers would not have seen the Lincoln Lawyer otherwise.
