Lining Up Your Tee Shots
How to Do It Properly
Having an amazing swing is great, but you're doomed to bad shot after bad shot without aligning your shot correctly. "Practice makes perfect", so here are some hints that might be helpful to help you get your tee shot more accurate and increase your overall scoring performance. When you're making a tee shot, it's essential to make sure you're in the tee box and that the ball has been teed in a flat area. If the shot is made on anything but flat ground, you're impacting your overall performance.
Keep your eyes on the ball. Align your club in the direction of the hole or area on the fairway you're trying to hit. If you don't align your club correctly, your shot will be askew and your performance will be hindered. Thereby hurting your overall score.
The way your feet are aligned is extremely important. If your feet are not in line with the head of the club, then yet again your performance is going to take a beating. Always make sure that your feet are aligned with the head of your club.
The full motion of the shot is also important. Your body must follow through and end up aligned with your feet. Just relax and follow through. Don't rush yourself and ruin your shot. It'll cost you a mulligan! Breathe deep, eye on the ball, and follow through. Those are very, very important points to keep in mind when on the course.
Don't forget the range! Go to the driving range to practice your shot and alignment of your feet and body. It's a cheap way to ensure you have a fun and low scoring game the next time you hit the golf course. Practice makes perfect! You can also get used to your driver and putter on the range. Practicing with the clubs you will play with is important to a successful game.
Don't give up just because you're not hitting like the pros on television. Tiger Woods didn't get to where he's at today by not practicing. He's spent hours upon hours practicing at not only the driving range, but on golf courses as well. Play a 9 hole game a couple days a week so when you meet your friends on the weekend your game is top notch. A good golf club set is also important. If you're playing with a set you've purchased for cheap, then your game is going to show that fact. Don't be afraid to spend a little money if you're wanting to take the game of golf seriously.
A short accurate drive will always beat our a long drive that ends in the rough or the water. Take your time and think about where you're shooting and where the next shot will be and will go. Keeping the ball on the green or in the fairway is extremely important to winning in a round of golf. You want a fighting chance to keep up so follow the guidelines above and never give up. And remember, practice makes perfect.
