Link Products With Your Amazon Affiliate Links
Contents at a Glance
my pages with little boxes of Amazon products, banners, and widgets didn't look all that good and did not allow me to link a product with just a word or picture. But, if I just had the HTTP:// with my affiliate code in it, I could link a word or image with that link, and get credit from Amazon for it when, and if, someone clicked on it.
For Example: The Kindle DX from Amazon. If I wrote a page about it, for each time I wrote the word Kindle Dx, I would want to make it a link with my affiliate code in it. That way, should you click on it, I would receive credit for the lead. They are easy Amazon product links. Same with an image of the Kindle DX. Should you click on that, I would receive credit as well. Just Click on the Kindle Text or Image to See...
First Things First

Link to Page or Product
After you sign in to Amazon with your e-mail and password, you are going to find a nice new tool bar at the top of your page. It will look like the one above. It will have a "Link to this page," "Add to aStore," and "Your Earnings Summary" buttons on it, as well as a few others. If you do not see the new "Site Strip" go to your "link and banner" page to turn it on.
Now, let's say that you want to promote the Kindle Dx, after you get to the Kindle Dx page, right click the "Link to this page" button. Then, click on "Open in new window". (I do this so as not to lose the item page that I will be useing again.)
Customize and Get HTML

Looking at the page above, please take note of the Blue dot next to "Text and Image" in the "Select Link Type" box. You want to take that Blue dot and move it into the "Text Only" circle.
Get The Link
You do not want All the code in the box! Just your link and info. Highlight, right click, and copy the "http://" link between the first two quotes ( " ) This link has your affiliate code as well as the product link together that you can use to link your text and images with.

That is the HTTP:// link that you will use to link your Keywords and Images with. To find out how I do this, Read on...
Use This Trick For Just About Anything

You can even do this with "Search Result Pages" on Amazon. If you mention Ipods on your page, do a search for Ipods in Amazon, for the page that comes up, hit the "link to this page" and copy the 'http://" link between the first two quotes ( " ) and link the word Ipod to the Amazon search page.
Do not forget to link all of your images as well...
Need an Ipod? Just click on the image.
This can work for just about any topic you talk about. Be it a person, such as Obama, or just about any product that you can think of. Even a Snot Sucker.
HTML Page Generator

Linking your text and images is pretty easy. To do this, it helps to have a page creator that will generate HTML code for you as you "compose" your page. I like to use Blogger to do this. Why? Because it is free and most of the HTML code that it creates works in other sites.
With Blogger, I can add text and images that I can link with a few clicks of the mouse. The images can be placed left, right, or center. Made small, medium, or large and have it all next to the text that describes it.
After I compose my page, check the spelling and links, I hit the HTML button, copy the HTML, and then paste it in places, like this lens....
Blogger Create

If you wish to use Blogger, after you sign up, it will bring you to your Dashboard. From the dashboard, just click on "New Post" and it will bring you to the Blogger Create Page..

For those of you who know how to do all this, please excuse the rest of us. I am going to try to break this down as if I was explaining it to someone who has never seen this stuff before.
From here, we go to the two main buttons that we will use...
A Hyperlink box will appear, Paste your link into the hyperlink box. Right click over the already blue "http://" in the URL box and then click "Paste." Or, if image or word already has a link, you can replace it with the one you have. That is it. Your Text or Image is now "Linked."
Now you can take this to your Squidoo Text Module and Right click and "Paste" it there. Hit "Save" and your Hyperlinked text and images will appear there.
Good Time...
Now may be a Good Time to go back and Up-Date some of your old Blogs or Lenses. Start linking those Keywords and adding Images with Hyperlinks in them to the products, topics, people, and places that you wrote about.
