You answered a question I had about how to grab just a text link I could use in an email to a friend. I just about right, but felt insecure about where the link itself ended. Thanks. I will have to go over this again.

This looks like a really useful lens. I think I'll have to read through it a couple of times for it to sink in though! Can anyone tell me this? I have used the squidoo modules to link to usa amazon items, however,if I try to do this with UK items it just comes up blank in the lens. Is there a way to link to UK amazon items within squidoo without being an amazon associate/affiliate?

I love the tip about using Blogger to do the html work! Such a neat trick. The only problem I'm having is getting links to open in a new tab like yours do. I am not seeing that option.
  • TNTbefree Dec 31, 2010 @ 5:41 am | delete
In the Link Generator section on this page. click on the mauve text that talks about opening links in new windows. If you use that t tool, and change the "Click Options" to "Open in New Window" it should work just fine.

A lot of people use this tactic to build product review blogs. It can take a few years to establish yourself, but if diligent you can make over 10k per month from Amazon alone. Rest assured I am not one of those people, but I have read about them.
  • TNTbefree Nov 17, 2010 @ 6:08 pm | delete
Ya, I am only $9,955.00 short of that mark myself. But I do enjoy trying.

Now , with Blogger you cana cyually do more. While you're writing the text, chose the keyword and the "amazon product link creater' will find the related products right there, in just a second, then you can click "link", "image" or "link+image" .

Very nice of you to share this information and well done. - I have been signing in to Amazon to the item page or items and copy and paste the URL and then using that link to direct traffic to Amazon. Now, I should be getting credit for that if someone buys something, right? Or is that not right? ~ I really hope you know the answer. ~ Blessed by a Squid Angel too!
    I shall return...thanks!
  • TNTbefree Dec 30, 2009 @ 6:00 pm | delete
Happy new year! Thanks for the blessing. If you are getting the HTTP:// link from the bar at the top of each item page page, No. That is a direct link without your affiliate code in it. If you are an affiliate, when you log in, you should see the new tool bar at the top of your page. As you go to the item you want to link to on your page, click on the "link to this page" button, and a little box will pop up with a bunch of HTML in it. You do not want all of it, just the first HTTP:// inside the first 2 quotes ("HTTP://") That http:// between the first two quotes has you affiliate code in it. Do not copy the quotes though. Then you can use that HTTP:// to link your keyword or image to Amazon and then, you will get credit for clicks and sales made from those who make a direct purchase after being directed to Amazon from a lead with your affiliate code filled link.
Hope that helped. Let me know if I can be of any further service. TNTbefree

Great tip. Thanks. I was wondering about that - and how do you get the image in there? Just host it on your own site? I really dislike the i-frames...

Anyhow, blessed by a squidangel :)
