Creating An Authority Link Wheel

This is one of the most imaginative ways of using web 2.0 properties. Here is the concept: 6 unique web 2.0 sites, all with elevated Page Ranks, create a backlink to your site. And each of the "spokes" include a link to it's neighbor - forming the wheel. The "hub" is any page on your web site.

The authority comes with from a tightly focused group of web sites, with high Page Ranks, all pointing to your site. The purpose is to focus an extensive amount of authority on one keyword phrase at a time - to promote that phrase up in the search engines.

On each of the 6 web sites on the outer wheel we include articles (preferably unique articles focused around one subject - a unique keyword phrase.

Let's say your main website is about pet supplies. And one of your pages deals with pet grooming. What we would do is to write 6 articles about "pet grooming". These could be 6 totally different articles on pet grooming or one article "spun" 6 times so that it is effectively unique content. Embedded in each of these articles are 2 backlinks. One to our "pet grooming" page on our web site and one to the next spoke.

Building the Link Wheel is one thing. Next we have to promote it.

1. Do Social Bookmarking for each of the 6 web 2.0 properties and the page on your web site.
2. Capture the RSS feed from the web 2.0 properties and submit it to a number of RSS aggregators
3. Ping the RSS feeds
4. If you are given a sub domain on the web 2.0 properties, submit it to a number of directories

The simple 6 spoke Link Wheel can be very formidable on its own. But you can make it even more powerful. Next we might want to expand our hub What we can do is develop another wheel, but this time we change the hub and use Squidoo as the focal point - building more authority for that page - which, in turn, passes greater authority back to your site.
