I had never heard of Linley Marthe until I saw the Zawinul Syndicate live at Blues Alley in Washington DC, October 2006. I've been looking for recordings with him ever since.
Zawinul knows how to pick bass players, and Linley is no exception.
There's very little on the web about Linley, and I hope that changes. Here's some of what I've found so far...
New recording!
Linley's new album, Samabe's "TOC", is a collaboration with drummer Chander Sardjoe and guitarist Eric Bensoussan.Check out these tracks, available from the Samabe site:

- Hi,
i had the pleasure to play with linley when he was 14 YEARS OLD. We played every night in a hotel in mauritius during 3 years. He was already an unbelievable bass player.
Everybody was saying the he would be one of the best in the world and that's what he is today.
I'm very proud of him.
For me he is the best groovy and impressive modern jazz electric bass player actually.

- I had seen him with Zawinul Syndicate in April(UK) and was amazed to see him touring New Zealand with Mario Canonge and Chander Sardjoe. In Auckland I rounded up some friends and we had a blast. Pre-show Linely and another bass-player jammed for 40 minutes in the lobby.Very special!Hats off!!!
