It Could Happen to Anyone.
Picture it, your using your XP computer late night and something goes wrong. You don't know what it is, but windows will not boot. OK don't panic, but oh crap all your music is in there, your club photos, or your PDF homework for graphics class in the morning. Trapped inside the hard drive and its due tomorrow. What to do? You could pop that rescue Cd. Oh wait you didn't make one. Call your friend? I think they are sleeping when most crashes happen.
You could reinstall or repair your windows XP and that could take hours when all you want to do is put that file on an external hard drive and deal with windows crashing later.

How To Save Your Music, Pictures and Other files with a linux Live Cd
You can mount any NTSF XP partition so long as you have your administrative password to windows XP and a Linux Live CD. Linux will boot up in less then 5 minutes with most current systems if not faster. Saving your music is as easy as drag and drop once you have axis to the hard drive.
- Boot to CD in the BIOS (usually F12)
- After UBUNTU has loaded - Click the hard drive icon
- UBUNTU will ask your XP Administrative Password to read and write to the XP Parition.
- Find your music folder and save it to an external hard drive or CD burner or anything
- this does not work on encrypted hard drives
All without installing Linux, running from the CD/DVD-ROM drive
