The Lion King Diamond Edition Movie Blu-ray, 3D and DVD 2011

Fans of Disney's The Lion King will be excited to know that Disney is releasing The Lion King from The Vault this fall. This time, of course, the release will be on high definition blu-ray disc for the first time ever.

But before The Lion King is released on blu-ray disc, it will return to movie theatres for a limited, two-week engagement looking like it has never looked before when Disney releases the film for the first time in 3D.

If you are a fan of 3D you will have two choices, you can make sure you get to the movie theatre during the limited two week release or, shortly afterward, you can buy it on blu-ray 3D.

Whether you choose The Lion King on blu-ray 3D or on regular high-definition blu-ray, you can be sure that Simba, Timon and Pumbaa are going to be sharper and clearer than ever before and the audio, which won 1994 Academy Awards for Best Original Score and Best Song, should be positively amazing.

If you have yet to invest in HDTV and blu-ray, you will be able to buy the DVD a month later. (Although the Platinum Edition is still available from 2003.)
