Helpful Tip
To help prevent contamination of your gloss or moisture forming drops on the surface, set the lid ajar on top of the cooling gloss pot. Seal the lid after the gloss has completely cooled.

Kool-Aid Lip Gloss
Have you ever colored your lips and tongue blue drinking blue Kool-Aid? This lip gloss works on the same principle, except you may prefer a flavor like strawberry, cherry, or black cherry over the blue color... or not. Have fun! This particular lipgloss is easy and safe enough to let young kids make.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon Kool-Aid or other sweetened instant flavored drink mix (if you use the unsweetened type, then use a lot less and maybe add a bit of honey as a sweetener)
2 tablespoons solid vegetable shortening
Mix the ingredients together and spoon the mixture into a lip gloss pot.
Lip Gloss Made from Roses
What a wonderful way to keep and use roses from a special event! This gloss will bear the color of the dried petals and the scent of roses.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons grated beeswax
1 tablespoon coconut oil
dried rose petals, crushed and ground into a powder
5 drops rose essential oil
You can powder dried rose petals by grinding them with a mortar and pestle or by processing them in a spice mill or coffee grinder. Melt the beeswax and coconut oil together, either in a microwave or over a double boiler. Mix in the rose petals and rose oil. You could add a drop of vitamin E if you like. Pour the mixture into a lip gloss pot and allow it to cool.
