Tamron Prime lenses

The quality of prime lenses has always surpassed zooms, yesterdays  good primes  will often beat today's zooms. Tamron lenses offered photographers Hardware independence on manual focus cameras, you could use these lenses on nearly all manual focus cameras independent of make.
Today these lenses are going for peanuts, some are superb others are good.  The illustration below was taken on a  Tamron 100mm 2.8.

Tamron Adaptal & SP Prime Lense resource list

Incredibly cheap on the second hand market, the Tamron SP range is designed to provide superior performance. Suited to advanced amateurs and professionals. The adaptal2 range are not up to the same performance specifications, but stopped down a couple of stops and they are still very useful for certain applications typically portrait etc. However one the key advantages with working with these lenses is that you have a certain amount of hardware independence. Buy a differing mount and you can fit the lens to a different body. Which are available for incredably cheap prices. The web site Adaptall-2.com

Tamron SP Adaptall-2 17mm F/3.5 Model 51B
Review from Adaptal-2.com :Tamron SP Adaptall-2 17mm F/3.5 Model 51B --- An excellent super wide angle lense. I used it predominantly last year on the nikon D50. It Worked exceptionally well, the effective 24mm focal length retained the depth of field of the 17mm allowing stunning shots. See images below. More to follow ---
Tamron Adaptal2 28mm F2.5
Evaluation -- Tamron adaptal 2 -- 28mm F2.5

Digital trial: Nikon D50
The 28mm focal length translates to 42mm when fitted to a Nikon digital body, the APS size digital sensor gives a 1.5 magnification to the focal length. However you retain the depth of field of the 28mm this is a great advantage. The 42mm focal length is a really nice, typical of rangefinder cameras, it allows that little extra context in the images. slightly less formal than the 50mm, a social lens.
Tamron adaptal2 90mm F2.8 macro
Top Lense - Tamron SP Adaptall-2 90mm F/2.5 Model 52B -A highly regarded lense, available in the early 2.5 varient to todays 90mm digitally coated design. The earlier F2.5 was a 1:2 macro, while the 2.8 gives a full 1:1 macro. The earlier F2.5 needs an extension tube or a x2 converter to give a full 1:1 magnification. - More information to follow!!!

Tamron adaptal2 200mm F 3,5
Tamron Adaptall-2 200mm F/3.5 Model 04B - A very compact Lens, with good close focus ability, A very useful lens. Requires to be stopped down a couple of stops for optimum performance. See Images Below !!
