It's A Cat's Life!

 

I suppose you could call me a cat artist. I do paint other subjects although they to are animal oriented; mice, foxes, wildlife in general. At the end of the day though, I always seem to come back to cats.

Around 60% of my cat paintings are in a whimsical sort of style and done in ACEO format. They document the adventures of Sox and Oreo, 2 cheeky little tuxedo kitties! They get upto all sort of mischief; making a mess of the bathroom, scratching the furniture, eyeing up the goldfish, dining in restaurants and even dressing up for Halloween! I call this series 'It's a Cat's Life' and it's not just limited to ACEO, I also paint small canvases of the troublesome tuxedos.

Cats, Cats and even more Cats! 

You may be surprised to know that I don't actually own a cat.... or should that be I'm not owned by a cat! I have however been adopted by Mr Biggles (my neighbour's kitty) and he is the inspiration behind most of my paintings.



A lot of my work is whimsical in style and I find it suits the mischievousness of kitties to a 'T'. I also like to occasionally paint in a style which I find a little difficult to describe. It's a blend of whimsical meets realism meets fantasy - something I like to call Whimtasism!
