Lisa Left Eye Lopes
Lisa Lopes was one of my favourite rappers. Her tonguetwisting lyrics always intrigued me, so did her voice and Atlanta accent. She was friend of Missy Elliott, whose new album is going to be called "The Block Party", in remembrance of Lisa I believe. One of Lisa's songs is in fact called "The block party", it is included in the "Supernova" album, the only solo album recorded by Lisa Lopes (2002). She was a member of the group TLC.
TLC released four albums:
1992: Ooooooohhh.... On the TLC Tip
1994: CrazySexyCool
1999: FanMail
2002: 3D
Unfortunately Lisa died young in a car crash in Honduras on April 25 2002 before being able to see her first solo album released. During the final days of her life while in Honduras she filmed a documentary which has been released under the tile "The last days of Left Eye". You can watch it on youtube or purchase it at Amazon. The youtube version is not complete and it is split into 22 parts.

On January 9 2009 a posthumous compilation called "Eye Legacy" was released as a tribute to Lisa Left Eye Lopes. The album features Missy Elliott, TLC, Lil mama, Tupac Shakur and many more plus previously unreleased songs by Left Eye.

Lisa Nicole Lopes (May 27, 1971 - April 25, 2002), better known by her stage name Left Eye, was an American rapper, singer, songwriter, teen idol, and member of the R&B girl group TLC.
Lopes contributed her own self-written raps to many of TLC's past singles, including "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg", "What About Your Friends", "Hat 2 da Back", "Waterfalls" and "Girl Talk". She was also known for wearing a pair of glasses with a condom in place of the left eye lens in the beginning of her career, which was one of the ways she promoted safe sex. - She went WAY too soon! Whenever I listen to a TLC song, I still have to remind myself that we'll never hear "Left Eye" do anything new. It's tragic. And while I'm a bit bummed now, this lens was absolutely beautiful. Thank you. 5 stars!
