Who is Lisa Left Eye Lopes

Lisa Lopes was one of my favourite rappers. Her tonguetwisting lyrics always intrigued me, so did her voice and Atlanta accent. She was friend of Missy Elliott, whose new album is going to be called "The Block Party", in remembrance of Lisa I believe. One of Lisa's songs is in fact called "The block party", it is included in the "Supernova" album, the only solo album recorded by Lisa Lopes (2002). She was a member of the group TLC.

TLC released four albums:

1999: FanMail
2002: 3D

Unfortunately Lisa died young in a car crash in Honduras on April 25 2002 before being able to see her first solo album released. During the final days of her life while in Honduras she filmed a documentary which has been released under the tile "The last days of Left Eye". You can watch it on youtube or purchase it at Amazon. The youtube version is not complete and it is split into 22 parts.

On January 9 2009 a posthumous compilation called "Eye Legacy" was released as a tribute to Lisa Left Eye Lopes. The album features Missy Elliott, TLC, Lil mama, Tupac Shakur and many more plus previously unreleased songs by Left Eye.
