Thanks for taking the time to stop by my new lens.

I started my blog, "101 Reason Why You Can't..." as a result of talking with a few clients, but wait I'm getting ahead of myself. You might be asking yourself, who is Lisa and what exactly does she do for a living? I'd like to think that my current career is a constant vacation, a vacation from the maddening world of corporate America.

After 10+ years in marketing for a variety of different markets including: television, public relations, technology outsourcing, education, and software I decided to leave the chaos and begin a new chapter in my life as a fitness professional.

In 2005, I left the "safety" of the corporate world and joined my husband's company, Evolution Fitness Coaching. While my husband has been in fitness for over 17 years; first as a trainer, then an equipment manufacturing consultant, and now an author and business developer, I still had to get my feet wet. I started digging into the fitness world and became a NASM certified personal trainer in May 2005. In October 2005, we opened our first 1:1 personal fitness training studio. We have one more scheduled for 2006 and the development of a new fitness training system in early 2007.

That gives you a brief history on me, but why should you bookmark this lens and continue reading? Because I've been there! I've heard all of the reasons why I shouldn't leave the corporate world, how owning your own business is scary, why working with your husband is crazy, etc. I've also heard all the excuses from clients; why they can't lose weight, or find time to train, or had to eat Taco Bell for lunch, etc. I think I have heard all of the excuses and reasons on why I (or someone else) can't do something. I'm here to tell you it's all crap! Sure you can come up with 101 Reasons why you can't (insert challenge here), that's easy! My blog and lens will bring you all the reasons why you can and should embrace challenges and change.

As a business and fitness professional, people tell me all time why they can't do something. I often tell them to take that same energy and give me just one reason why they can! If you are looking for someone to validate your excuses then move along, but if you want advice on why you can, then stay a while.

On one long commute in January 2005, Lisa realized that she had to make a change! After spending more than 10 years in corporate marketing she was overweight and tired of living in the corporate ?hamster wheel?. She started by making better decisions about her diet and putting an end to her fitness excuses. Lisa began studying fitness and hired a personal trainer, no not her husband (couples cannot effectively train each other). She soon realized consistency and accountability were the true keys to fitness.

In May 2005, the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified Lisa as a personal trainer. While enjoying her new Size 6 wardrobe, Lisa realized the effect fitness had on her life and wanted to help others rediscover their youth and vitality. Combining her extensive business background and her passion for health & fitness, Lisa decided to leave her corporate marketing career and join her husband's company, Evolution Fitness Coaching.

Lisa is actively coaching individuals in-person and online towards a healthier lifestyle. In 2006, she became a Z-Health certified trainer and started a free advice/motivational blog, ?101 Reasons Why You Can't??. In addition, Lisa continues to consult with a variety of businesses regarding business development, marketing and sales.
