"The money is in the list" may be a cliche but that doesn't stop it being true.

I made a huge mistake when i didn't give list building and email marketing enough attention when I started.

Having a big list - and especially having a big responsive list - gives you enormous marketing power.

So what if you ignore 90% of the emails that hit your inbox. I'm sure you have emails from people outside your friends and family that you always pay attention to because they are worth listening to. They recommend something and you check it out.

And that's the power of list building and email marketing.

List Building Tips

The deal is simple.

You offer something your target market wants in exchange for their email details - your offer.

The eyeballs who see your list - the traffic.

The more eyeballs on the offer the better.

The strong, more irresistible the offer, the better.

Bland and boring doesn't cut it so you need something to grab attention and to arouse curiosity.

It's said that away motivation is stronger - people are more motivated to move away from problems than to move towards solutions.

That would make "get out of debt" (away) more attractive than "make more money" (towards)
