List Building - Why is a Squeeze Page so Effective?
What is a squeeze page? A squeeze page is a web page that has as its only purpose the opting in of opt in subscribers. A squeeze page should have no other outbound links.
When a squeeze page has outbound links, you will find that the opt in rate goes down significantly. Once you have more than another link or two, it would be hard to even think of it as a squeeze page.
So I am talking about a pure squeeze page here. A pure squeeze page is a squeeze page that has no other outbound links.
Why is a squeeze page so effective?
The biggest thing about a squeeze page is that it allows you to leverage your traffic by building a list.
Here is how the traffic leverage works.
An example is in order here.
Imagine you are getting 100 visitors to your web site everyday. If you send those 100 visitors to a sales page each day, then you will have 100 visitors to your web site each day, for as long as your initial traffic remains at 100 visitors per day.
But if you send that traffic to a squeeze page, and only half of it signs up for your opt in email list, then you will have initially 50 visitors per day (you will send each subscriber to your sales page after they opt in).
But you will be adding 50 subscribers per day. After 30 days, you will have 1500 subscribers. Each day that you send the 1500 subscribers an email, about 20-30% of them should open your emails. This means you will have between 300 and 450 email opens daily. Out of this number, let us assume that half of these visit your sales page. So you have 150 to 225 visits per day, plus the 50 from your opt in redirect page. So after just one month of list building you have increased your net traffic from 100 per day to 200 to 325 per day.
