LitterMaids come in all sizes! I recommend the Littermaid for everyone!
If you have a small cat get a small one if you have big cats get a big one. People are under the impression it only comes in one size. It doesn't! A fifteen pound cat like my Zeus does not fit in the LM900. He fits in the LM950. There is also the LM500. So be careful which Littermaid you purchase and what size you are getting. And get the right one for your cat... Use the brush that comes with it when the rake gets clumped.

The Littermaid is a wonderful product when used right. My cats think its great and so do I.

I found the most useful item to go with the littermaid. Petmates Purrforma Easy-tie Wastebags are great to line the receptacles with! The wastebags cost less as well. And they are shaped similar to the receptacle. I now buy wastebags instead of receptacles (as the wastebag lines the receptacle never dirtying it).

A must have for multiple cat households! We got ours about two years ago and it has been the best gadget we ever bought. I have three cats, and the demand on the regular litter box was huge, meaning it had to be cleaned several times a day. One of the cats is finnicky and would refuse to use the box if it wasn't clean, using the floor and once in a while even the couch instead. Before we replaced the couch we bought the littermaid, and it literally saved that cat from being given away - she loves it. She uses it, then waits for it to begin cleaning and attacks it with her paws - and despite this it still works two years later, it's very sturdy.
During the winter when the cats don't go outside the plastic receptacle needs emptying every two or three days (and it can be emptied and re-used, making this very cheap to run) but in the summer it gets emptied about once a week. It sits in the corner of the room and nobody knows it's there until we hear the cat attacking it.

I would recommend getting the privacy tent with it as it contains the smell for the ten minutes between use and automatic disposal - once the box has cleaned itself the smell is gone, contained in the plastic receptacle. Also, you MUST use premium clumping litter, anything else clogs the unit and stops it working. Yes, I know this from experience with a cheaper clumping litter.

In conclusion, this is indispensible for anyone who can't spend every minute of the day checking their litter box.
