Little Bill Books Bill Cosby

These first 3 books from the "Little Bill" series were selected for the Oprah's book club (and that's not just a little book club...) in december 1997. They were not made into cartoons yet, so the caracters don't look like we know them today.

Since the Little Bill books were picked up by Nick Jr in 1999. The serie is set in Philadelphia (yes, Bill Cosby's home town) and features the same little Bill from the books. Each tv episode features two stories that explore events that make up the daily life of the youngster.

The cartoons gave him a little make over, and now the books are made to match the looks of the cartoon we all know.

Bill Cosby is the executive producer for the Little Bill tv show, but I am not sure if he kept writing all the books since the association with Nick Jr.

Here is a little not so known fact about Bill Cosby :

In 1976, he earned a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Massachusetts. For his doctoral research, he wrote a dissertation entitled : "An Integration of the Visual Media Via 'Fat Albert And The Cosby Kids' Into the Elementary School Curriculum as a Teaching Aid and Vehicle to Achieve Increased Learning".

You can find Little Bill from Bill Cosby on DVD, but he will be with other friends from Nick Jr.
