Turning your Small Acreage into a Profitable Farm

You will learn many different ways your can become a Backyard or Small Acreage Farmer.

I am excited as this is my first squidoo.

What is Backyard Farming?

What do I do now????

Ok you've just bought a piece of ground and a house. Your dream of moving to the country is finally coming true.
Now What?

What are you going to do with that oversized backyard? Can you make money with it to possibly help pay off your new gigantic mortgage?

I am here to tell you that yes you can make money to pay off your morgtage and not only that but make a very good living if you do it right you can quit your job and spend the time with your family.
Which if we are honest that is what you truly envisioned when you made the giant leap to become one of the "Rural Elite".

I was raised on a big (thousands of acres) family ranch in Wyoming. I have lived the country life for the last 40+ years. ( I can't believe I told my age) I have personally made money with all of the different areas I am going to share with you.

I am not just writing words down out of thin air I have done the work.

I have lived with dirt under my fingernails for the last ½ century.

I am not only offering to you the most detailed information you can find today on the subject of backyard farming. (On the web or anywhere else in print for that matter)

I am going to give you not 1 report but unlimited detailed reports on ideas that will make you money on your small farm, backyard or acreage.

Sarah why would you do this?

For several reasons actually. Most of which are extremely selfish.

I hate seeing land that is not producing and therefore healthy.

I really hate seeing people move to the country and get 3 horses and just let them stand there and ruin the land.

I think that our farmland is becoming extinct due to all of the development and I would rather see 5 acre productive farms making income than this small parcel also being sold to a developer and have them put 20 more houses there.

I want you to discover "Peace in the Cycle of Life" that I have led for the last 40+ years. (Cripes I did it again.)

I want you to be able to go to your son's baseball games, and your daughters dance recitals. To take the afternoon off and play golf and not have to worry about what the boss thinks. (Please don't tell your spouse I said you could.)

Money is not everything. This is said by people that don't have any. If you are not making money with your acreage you are a bad or uninformed manager.

Don't Panic!!!! We can fix it together. Stay tuned to this lens and you will find at least one idea that is geared twards you.

Remember every one has to start some where.

Hi Sarah, We have lived on a 1 or 2 acre parcel on and off for the last 25 plus years. Usually just planted a small veg. garden for personal use...now the bomb shell hits...getting laid off...need new source of income...here I am sitting on 2 acres (paid for) and DUH (slaps himself in the head) I can make a difference in my family and community. I need to jump start this. We have two Nigerian Dwarf goats (4-H project) and hope to grow our heard, but I need to start getting cash crops going, possibly landscape plants and high value crops like elephant garlic. I live in the lower foot hills of central Calif. No irrigation, but drip system off my well for a lot of stuff. Thanks for your Squidoo page, Jack
