Original Art and Photography in Second Life
Second Life is a virtual 3-D world where you can buy virtual land and build things on them. In 2006 and 2007 I was lucky enough to have an art gallery built for me. It was the impetous for me learning how to use Photoshop and I started a daily art project. It's great to be able to "hang" a picture on a "wall" with a mouse instead of hammer and nails. I could also make the pictures any size I wanted. And even sell them.
My art gallery no longer exists as the builder moved on and abandoned the land which, in this case, made it disappear. But there are still other art galleries in Second Life where some artists have made a bridge between virtual reality and real paintings. This lens is about both my gallery and the art world in Second Life.

- What a wonderful concept to sell art in the imaginary worlds. Brilliant! I almost signed up for second life once but figured I already have so much on my plate that I really should behave myself. I have heard though that it is an amazing program. A lot of people have fallen in love there.

- I think this is a cool idea. I personally would prefer to see it in real life, but then someone like Mike would probably find it more enjoyable in second life. So there ya go! :)
