The tiny hand of my friend's very premature grandson,
Time stood still
When Sam was born.....
We all held our breath and waited for the news. My friend Dorothy's grandbaby was being born 21 weeks premature. It was tough for her daughter, who had a miscarriage before getting pregnant with little Sam.He was hanging on, but not without complications. So many things could go wrong. He had tubes all over him, and he could not be held yet.
The sweet little one could squeeze your hand though. That's all they could do, touch his little hand.
A couple of days later she sent us pictures, including the one at the top of this page. I was mesmerized by that tiny little hand.
When I closed my picture viewing software another picture popped up. One I had saved long ago but not opened in quite some time. It was of a young girl, an angel, spreading roses at the foot of steps to heaven. I felt like I had been given a message. It was not Sam's time, and he would be fine.
Well Sam is fine now, a beautiful baby boy! at the time of this writing, he is 17 weeks old and weighs 10 lbs!
....and that angel picture still pops up from time to time. I have to smile.

- aww!! love the subject of the lens. I had a premie my 2nd child. he had to be in nicu for the first wekk and then was able to come home after gaining weight and able to breath on his own. He is fine now just a little smaller than the other kids and a little behind when it come to the level of learning he should be at. but other wise we made it through it just fine... 5*'s
