On July 13, 1985 Bob Geldof and Midge Ure organized one of the most memorable nights in music history to benefit Ethiopia. I was 15 and rememeber being glued to the TV. Here are the performers that made it happen!

The proceeds from this lens go to Action Against Hunger.

Live Aid was a multi-venue rock music concert held on July 13, 1985 (1985-07-13). The event was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in order to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. Billed as the 'global jukebox', the main sites for the event were Wembley Stadium, London (attended by 72,000 people) and JFK Stadium, Philadelphia (attended by about 90,000 people), with some acts performing at other venues such as Sydney and Moscow. It was one of the largest-scale satellite link-ups and television broadcasts of all time: an estimated 1.5 billion viewers, across 100 countries, watched the live broadcast.

Great job. I included all of Queen's Live Aid performances within the Freddie Mercury - Queen Squidwho lens. Queen's 1985 Live Aid performance was voted the best live music performance of all time. It is good to see the magical performance captured for use to relive now.
