10 STEP QUICK START
GUIDE TO WELLNESS
We are too busy in our daily lives. Who needs complication, added tedious obligations, and increased hassles by trying to track every detail of changing your habits? This leads away from "flow". The goal is to create "flow". Streamline, simplify, reduce complexity but through efficiency and harmony. Just start taking action on the information you learned. When it comes to nutrition and diet recommendations don't get complicated follow the commonly used adage "K.I.S.S"- Keep It Simple Stupid.
Begin to follow these 10 simple steps first. Focus on the basics:
1.) Eliminate the junk you're eating like fast foods, sugary drinks and candy
2.) Eat more of the items listed as the power foods / super foods everyday
3.) Reduce your portions sizes - use smaller plates to put food on. It's simple.
4.) Eat 3 meals and 2 healthy snacks a day / 5 a day should be your plan.
5.) Take a naturally derived multivitamin mineral supplement plus a
Calcium w Vitamin D and Magnesium supplement
6.) Get the rest you need, go to bed 30 min earlier and getting up 1/2hr earlier
7.) Drink more pure filtered water. Start by having 1 glass as soon as you wake up

It can provide great insight into what you're doing right and what you may be doing wrong. It can also be a source of motivation and structure to stay consistent until you have mastered your plan.

Here Are Some Stats / Check It Out / You May Be Suprised
Organics- this is where the better side of meat is presented. Grass fed organic beef has been found to contain higher levels of Alpha Linolenic Acid, an essential fatty acid not synthesized by the body, which is part of the key omega 3 fatty acids beneficial for healthy cardiovascular function. Grass fed organic beef also has higher levels of vitamin B12 and antioxidants. Meat, eggs, and dairy from organic pasture raised animals have more "good fats" less "bad" fats and contain higher amounts of vitamin E, vitamin C, beta carotene, ALA, and antioxidants. A cow fed a grain diet that is mainly corn leads to compositional changes and upsets the natural beneficial qualities of the meat. Cows didn't evolve to exist on corn grains; they evolved by eating grass. Do you see cows running around in corn fields pulling ears of corn off the stalks and eating the ears of corn?
Even the USDA is turning a blind eye to the situation. When they were confronted with the data that their numbers in the USDA's National Nutrient Database showed a continual decline in the number of nutrients in fruits and vegetables from 1975 to 2004 they responded "..it is true that in many cases, the apparent nutrient content...decreased. " They also did not pursue any investigation into the matter since informed of this trend in 1999.
Fruits and vegetables grown with synthetic fertilizers (containing synthetic chemical nitrogen) contain 20% less dry matter and more water compared with organic crops. High nitrogen levels makes plants grow faster and absorb more water. These fruits and vegetables may grow bigger and faster which is beneficial for agribusiness but the consumer suffers. We are paying higher prices for a lower nutrient content, poorer tasting, and lower quality product.
Synthetic nitrogen fertilizer increases health risk, adds more water content, results in less actual mass of fruits and vegetables, less actual nutrient content and diluted flavor but leads to more weight. The result is that you pay more money but the nutrient content is diminished. In contrast, organic farmers function in a manner that supports the dynamic yet complex relationship between the roots of crops, natural minerals and microorganisms in the soil. These farms are bound by law and strong regulation as well as personal conviction to utilize methods other than chemical nitrogen fertilizers. They enhance the fertility of the soil by several alternative strategies such as composting, cover crops, farm animal channeling, natural fertilizers and crop rotational systems. The future of agriculture has already shifted strongly in the direction of organics but it is still in its adolescent stages in this new century of food production. Overall, the approach toward food production will best serve humanity, animals and business by fostering a holistic approach to our food systems. A traditional organic production system will bring a sense of balance and harmony, one that will increase the health, vitality and longevity of everyone.

LARGE AGRIBUSINESS AND ORGANICS - THE MARRIAGE HAS ALREADY HAPPENED
Here is the handy flow chart guide outlining how large agribusiness is moving in on the Organics movement sometimes with reckless, abusive manipulation leading to marginalization of products or at the least incorporating a portion of non organic ingredients. Do your homework. Don't over pay for things that are not what you expect them to be.
Many of these companies make good products but we must stay vigilant.
Organics is still the way to go but now we must tread diligently and not get duped. Some manufacturers produce foods with only one organic ingredient, some ingredients are not certified to the source or worse.

Look for Organic certification by a second certification when USDA is the one listed on the front label. This can add to your assurance of a quality product.
Let's watch these products and stay informed. They may be very good products sporting the new plainly and boldly visible USDA Organic label on the front of them but we also know the USDA has not always acted in your best interest in the past. Many of the products from these companies are good products. Some may not be. They may take a turn to cheapen the products during hard economic times. Take action to keep these companies honest. Demand what you want and don't want in a product. These are tough times and we can afford to choose. If the large conglomerates begin to bastardize or marginalize the product, as has begun to happen on some fronts, we have the power to act together.
