Thank you all for your very kind comments. I check this lens regularly to add, change or subtract shopping, eating and drinking venues so if you are visiting Havant, make sure you revisit here first.

Great lens. I was at Havant Sixth-form college for two years, while doing my A-Levels and S-Levels back in the mid 1980s. I lived in Petersfield and got the train there each school-day. I was back in the area again just a couple of weeks ago (I live in London now)

Well I've certainly learnt something about a place I've only ever driven through and past. Maybe I'll take the time to stop and look around next time!

I read your comment in the forum about English Language standards and agree wholeheartedly. English has always been a language that evolves and takes fresh life from emerging influences, but that is not the same as the growing practice of writing without awareness of basic grammar, punctuation and form.
It has been a pleasure to visit your lens, for although I have no particular interest in Havant, the flow of your prose and the clear use of language made it a refreshing experience. Thank you. Poppy

Sounds like a lovely place. I've been in England only one day, but I hope to return for an extended stay at some point and see as much of the country as I can.

Sound like a very nice place to live. I love the sea and, although I have never been there, I think southern England would be my choice of places to stay if ever I get there. 5*
