Lizzy's Christmas Lenses
Christmas is in the Air!
Christmas is my favorite time of year, the hustle and bustle, the celebrations, decorating the Christmas tree, making cookies and candy, singing carols, sharing with friends and family, Christmas Eve Services...
It is a busy time of year but so much fun. I would like to share with you some of the Christmas lenses I have built, as well as some tips and ideas to make this the best Christmas ever.
Happy Holidays!

Organize Your Time and Your Priorities
I love the Christmas Season. It is a time of sharing and goodwill, peace and hope. Unfortunately for some it is also a season of stress. There is so much to do and so little time to do it. I want to enjoy the holidays, not run around like crazy finishing last-minute projects and buying the gifts I forgot to put on my list.

Determine what is important and then plan for them.
One of my favorite Christmas activities is decorating the Christmas tree. We spend a whole day adding the lights and
rearranging the ornaments. Its family time, and I wouldn't give it up for the world. But to allow that time, compromises must be made elsewhere. I have that day, but I don't spend a whole day shopping for Christmas gifts. (My feet couldn't handle that anyway.) Instead of a day of shopping, I pick up a gift here and there throughout the fall.

What works for me may not work for you. Decide what is important to you and make them the priority. You will have the time for what matters most. The rest ... if there's time there's time. If not, does it really matter?

Decorating With Plants and Flowers
Decorating with plants and flowers is quick and easy, and the results are spectacular. I have several Christmas Cactus. They bloom at Christmas (sometimes.) If they're behind schedule%u2026what can I say. I'm behind schedule half the time too. I tie a pretty red bow around the pot and
call it good.
Adding an Amaryllis to my collection is a yearly tradition. It blooms in the house for Christmas and then I plant it in the garden in the spring. They bloom every spring from there on out.
Plants and flowers are an easy way to add paunch to your decorating without spending a lot of time and effort on it.

Stories Behind the Great Traditions of Christmas (Stories Behind Books)
Amazon Price: $2.87 (as of 06/02/2012)![]()
The first time I read this book I picked it up at the library. I read the stories, reread them, and then read them again. I didn't want to deny someone else access to the book by continually renewing it so I bought it. I like knowing how a tradition started. Did you know that mistletoe is really a parasitic plant?
