Interior Designers Are Looking to Sell

Focus one. Interior Designers are looking to sell. They have no interest in collecting a bunch of unwanted Art for their Offices. Thats not gonna make the money. Presentation and Excellence is everything with interior Designers. Great Designers will have more then one resource when it comes to creating the environment for their client. Interior Designers are not psychic so they wont be buying your artwork based on a hunch that someone wants your art with their designs.

What An Interoir Designer will do is stockpile information on their desktop or laptop of Various Artist who have work available for sale. Interior designers will not keep the work so dont even ask. When the client wants Artwork in their homes its the Interior Designers responsibility to be able to get the best work to represent the clients style. They can not make a guarantee of sale What they can do is stay in contact with you and if a client wants the artwork then its your responsibility to bring it to the shop for the Client to View. From there you will get the thumbs up or thumbs down based on the clients taste.

You really should have a website of inventory that the interior designers can look at and decided of they are interested in your work. You need to keep your information current. You can loose your interior designer as a client if you show work they can not sell. You also make it difficult for her client if they find something you made that they like and its not available. Often times the interior designer will take 50% of sale since they are doing all the work. You simply have to be able to bring the work to her business when she needs it.

Presentation and speed is everything. You want your best to be shown, You want clear pictures. Also keep an open mind that sometimes when the artwork gets to the location a client can in fact chance their mind about the work and decline. At Which point you will pick up the work at the interior designers workshop.

Talk with the Various Interior Designers and see if they are willing to talk you on consignment. Keep in mind you only sell if the client want original artwork and not the interior designer.

If your going to go to one Interior Designer this will not be the best way to make money.

As An Artist I'm Looking To Sell

As An Artist you really have to be flexible when it comes to dealing with interior designes. They are a unique bunch that can be creatively inspired one minute and antisocial the next. If you want to gain interior designers trust as a partner on consignment, you need to be very calm and professional. I suggest if you are going to work with the Interior Designers that you call them up locally and see if they are willing to take you on consignment with a 50/50 split. This way the Interior Designers will do their best to get the highest price for the artwork. You may not get the best money out of this as you are taking a loss of half the value. What you gain is someone looking to sell your work while you work on new drawings or paintings.

Your best bet is to go after many many local interior designers. Freely admit to the other interior designers that you are working with more then one so who ever sells for the highest price gets the artwork for their client.

You would be shocked to know how many people have more interest in something once it becomes highly competitive. This is the reason why you want to let all the designers know about each other. Let the work sell itself to the highest bidder.

Be professional and impress your Interior Designer by contacting them all when something has sold. Hey sales are big news worth Sharing with everyone. Client sales gives interior designers a reason to keep an eye on your development as an artist. Sales give Interior designers a reason to check your website and see what you got in relation to their personal clients. iv made my artwork available here http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/joey-gonzalez.html.

This can be a win win relationship but keep in mind because i cant stress this enough . The Clients wants are what drive the designers designs and sales. Interior Designers are working to sell a total image. You may be part of that package if you play your cards right.

Modify Your Promotional Materials For Your Target Audience

SImply Put who are you showing your work to?

When you present to Interior Designers You will need a Sold Page and an Inventory Page as well as a Bio and Gallery of Your Best works. Lucky For us Interior Designers dont care about consistency. Its all about Professionalism and what the client wants. One Minute your designing country american cottage theme and the next your doing modern minimalist. You never know what the clients request will be. You can how ever look into the over all looks that your local Interior Designers do the most, their photo book of completed projects. This will give you a huge clue if he/she is compatible with your professional fine art.

Always Always Always Show only your available work on your promo fliers for the designers to have around as a reminder you are looking to sell. That Flier should have your website inventory link and email and phone number and all other information the designers will need to get a hold of you as well as the size and media of the work.
