Local Niche Marketing for Beginner Blogging

This lens is about how a beginner can start a profitable blogging business with local niche marketing.

Local Niche Blogging

Capturing Your Local Market With A Blog

My friend & mentor, Vic Franqui of Blogging Unleashed recommends that beginner online marketers start a local niche blog.

So, what is a local niche blog? Glad you asked. A local niche blog is a news type blog created to serve the blog publisher's local market (usually a city or town) by reporting on local news, entertainment, sports, etc. The stuff normally not covered by your local well-known print newspapers or other general news blogs.

Instead of covering an entire city or town, the local niche blogger can even focus on serving a local community or even a neighborhood. Here's an example, one local niche blog writes about the weekly parties and special events of a very popular strip of upscale bars & nightclubs downtown in a large city.

The idea is to gradually attract a following of about 500 loyal readers in some specialized local niche that is being underserved. For example, a great local market niche would be doing in-depth reporting on sports in a local area such as the children's soccer league in town. The goal is to over-deliver in serving the needs of a specific local market niche so that eventually your readers will become raving fans of your blog, and enthusiastically want to promote your future online projects.

Too many bloggers seem to be falling into the trap of following the blogging gurus who happen to write about "making money online." Blogging is so much more than just "making money online." Why not work your local market by posting about local restaurants, theatre, concerts, charity events, etc. The benefits may surprise you.

Vic of Blogger Unleashed issued a challenge to his readers that they can actually make money blogging by starting a local niche blog. And because of the many advantages of this unique business model, I highly recommend it as well.

Listed below is a great article series on local niche marketing and how you can benefit from this overlooked business model.

Getting Started By Finding A Mentor

Why Go It Alone & Reinvent The Wheel?

Most internet marketing beginners find it difficult to "pull the trigger" and start marketing online. The difficulty lies mainly in the overwhelming number of options that bombard the internet beginner from online marketers peddling their wares.

It seems that everyone online has a product that can show you how to make a 6-figure income in 90 days or less. All you have to do is buy their latest ebook, video tutorial, or audio series and you're set for life. Right! New product launches appear online continuously, each sounding more appealing than the last.

However, out of the constant stream of internet "noise" has emerged a breath of fresh air. Recently I discovered a blog about internet marketing called Blogger Unleashed. The man behind the blog is Vic Franqui who is the "real deal" and tells it like it really is to make money online.

Once a blackhat marketer, Vic has gone legit in building his internet marketing empire. Now Vic is giving back to the internet marketing community by sharing "real world" money-making strategies through his blog. Blogger Unleashed is dedicated to helping beginner internet marketers avoid the online leeches who prey on those that don't know the truth about making real money online. No fluff, just sound business principles and tactics.

If you're a beginner on the net, or someone still trying to make money at home on the internet, I highly recommend following Vic's blog at Blogger Unleashed.

Recently, he has decided to update his blog with video posts, which I feel is the future of blogging. In the last 3 months that I've been listening to Vic's vlog, I've learned more from him than from most of the ebooks, audios & videos I acquired over the last 18 months combined. Would you believe that Vic provides all of his insightful lessons free of charge?

Take a moment to view a sample of Vic's video post that I've provided below...ENJOY!

(One more thing...Vic is very, very, very honest and straight forward in his posts. He also has a colorful vocabulary, so if profanity offends you, be forewarned. You'll either love him or hate him, but if you're smart, you'll learn to love him).
