Common Sense and the Natural Environment
Are you interested in the environment? Water Wars--Global Warming--Habitat Destruction? So am I, but with a spin.
Infrastructure has a major impact on our environment. And funding has a major impact on infrastructure.
For example, if our sewers are old and cracked--groundwater infiltrates into the system. That can cause sewer overflows or problems at the treatment plant, which discharges into your local river or lake.
Other issues to consider include population growth and how it affects the competition for water--and resulting costs for water treatment and distribution.
Questions beget questions. How well do environmental regulations protect the environment? Do the regulations make sense? What is the cost? And what is the cost/benefit ratio?
These are examples of the topics that are important to everyone, whether they know it or not.
