MY OPINION ABOUT USING LOL
I came across this site called nomorelol.com that points out so many of us use the term "LOL" when we are not really laughing out loud. Should we then use the term "LOI" when we are laughing on the inside?
While nomorelol.com is pretty funny, nobody is going to stop using LOL. If someone tells you a joke, it just sounds better to say LOL. LOI is almost an insult saying your joke wasn't funny enough for me to laugh out loud.
My point is:
Don't nitpick. Who cares about the definition of LOL. It can be used when something is funny, period. If something is really funny use ROFL. Who cares if you aren't laughing out loud or rolling on the floor laughing? People will understand that better than if you use LOI.
THE DEBATE! LOL yes or LOL no?
Should you use LOL if you aren't really laughing out loud?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byLOL WHEN SOMETHING IS FUNNY, NO LAUGHING SOUND REQUIRED.

do a lot of people still type lol in caps? I use lol quite a lot but that might just be because I think my friends are quite funny.. lol'ing at something that is completely not funny or not intended to be funny (even though it can be in a certain viewpoint) isn't one of my habits though.

I think we shouldn't use it at all. Nor should we use LMOA, LMFAO, ROFL, and all the other ones that came with it. I also don't say KFC or BK when talking about KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN and BURGER KING (took an extra millisecond to type the full words, boy I'm tired). Who knows, maybe I'm just a stupid SOB or even worse, a DB......... WTF?

Rofl, LOL...whatever the case may be should use appropriately. I am sick of people writing LOL when I am not even saying anything funny.
Advise? May sure the person who you are loling is saying something funny, and if possible do not even use it!

It's annoying. And what i find is that people can get away with anything if they put LOL after it.
e.g.
a) You look really fat today. LOL.

i use lol way to much but it makes it seem like your still interested in talking to someone and makes them feel better , i say it out loud sometyms, it always gets a laugh , i dont see why everyone has a problem with it .. if they dont like it then dont use it ... thats something else i do to much use '...' when i take a break in what im saying when i should really put , so is everyone going to kick up a fuss about that ... no ... lol!

I try to avoid using that at all costs. My preference is definitely to just us "haha". Another phrase I hate at work is "Please Advise".
