I live in Wales: I'm not Welsh, but an American who's been living in the UK for over two years now. We came here to share the Christian gospel through low-key, long-term relationships and to plant reproducible, organic churches as God brings people to faith in Jesus Christ.
My wife and nineteen-year-old daughter live here with me; our oldest daughter is single and lives in Pensacola, FL; our second daughter is married to an airman and they live at Little Rock Air Force Base with our two granchildren (and one due in October 2006). Our only son recently married an English girl and they live in Sheffield, England, where he also serves in a church planting network. We also have a Yorkshire Terrier named Bentley.
Please visit my other Squidoo lenses. They are listed further down the page and, as you can see, my interests have quite a wide range but most of the lenses relate to some type of ministry (even the one on "heroin addiction"). If you decide to visit the other sites, please take the time to rate each one and leave your comments/suggestions to improve them for others. Thanks for dropping by!!
Welcome to my personal Squidoo lens! Please sign my guestbook.
I would love to know who visited my site!
Hello-
I came across your site searching for Americans that reside in Cardiff Wales or a surrounding city. I am trying to find a way to relocate to Cardiff. I will be visiting March 4th through the 11th. I have a few friends there and love the country. I am planning on relocating our family. I have a 18 yearold son and 2 20 year old twin boys that want to come as well. And of course my husband who is an incredible carpenter-remodeler. I am a nurse. I work mainly inend of life-Hospice. Wondered if you had any words of wisdom for me. I don't know how to start!
Thanks-

- Many companies are discovering the benefits of having a chaplain on hand to help employees deal with stress, marital problems, financial issues, grief, and a host of other personal and professional matters.
- Church Planter Training
- Since there are many different church planting models, from very simple house churches to the complex (and expensive) high-yield approach, a number of organizations offer training to those who believe God has called them to a church planting ministry.

- Unraveling some of the mysteries of demographics.
- Evangelical Christianity in the United Kingdom
- At first glance, one would think that evangelicals have gone underground in the UK, but this lens shows that Christianity is still alive in Great Britain. While not as strong or as visible as their American counterparts, I think you'll be encouraged at what God is doing in this very secular society.
- Heroin Addiction :: What You Should Know and Do About It
- We recently brought a young Christian man into our home who was struggling to break free from his long-term heroin addiction. Knowing nothing about such things, I began researching the subject on the internet and we placed our new friend into a faith-based, residential recovery program. This Squidoo lens shares the fruit of our experience.
- Internet Churches: Online Christian Worship Via Web Technology
- Cyberspace is now packed with churches offering live webcasts of their worship services and Bible studies, not to mention the unusual variety of virtual churches where you can actually get baptized online (really strange), go for counseling, fellowship with other virtual members, and study the Bible interactively.
- Macintosh Computers
- My favorite computer.
- Military Chaplains: Serving God in Combat Boots
- Every branch of military in Canada the United Kingdom and the United States employ ministers of many faith groups to work alongside service personnel, even in combat situations.
- Organizing Your Email Clutter
- If you receive or keep large amounts of email, organization of your messages can be a real pain. The time it takes to find a copy of an important message takes away from productive time. Check out this amazing way to de-clutter your inbox and make yourself look like an organizational genius!
- The People of Wales: A Collection of Portraits
- The Welsh people are the national treasure of the United Kingdom! They are warm, friendly, hospitable, witty, fun-loving folk who are fiercely loyal to their Welsh identity and heritage. As Americans who moved to Wales just over two years ago, we didn't quite know what to expect from our new neighbors. Even though the natural beauty of Wales is magnificent, the predominantly working class people of this British principality are its greatest asset.
- Pontypridd, Wales
- Pontypridd is a regional market town, situated 10 miles north of Cardiff, the capitol city of Wales. Located in the South Wales Valleys, an area famous for its deep coal mines of a bygone era, Pontypridd is still a major transport hub and a bustling business center for outlying villages.
- Redneck Preservation Society
- A lens dedicated to all things "redneck," the good, the bad, and the ugly.
- Relational Evangelism
- A lens to bring together a number of articles, books, blogs, and websites dedicated to a low-key, long-term relational approach to sharing the Gospel.
- Simple Church
- Also known as "house church" or "organic church," this model provides excellent opportunities for building relationships and multiplying congregations.
- So You Don't Want to Go to Church Anymore?
- A fictional novel written (by Jake Colsen) to encourage Christians to pursue an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, rather than just "go through the motions" of attending church meetings.
- Stuff Nobody Told Me About Church Planting
- A good friend of mine, Steve Nerger, has an unpublished book entitled "Stuff Nobody Told Me About Church Planting." We've talked about working on the project together and finding a publisher, but I ended up in Wales and he's now working with the North American Mission Board in Alpharetta. Borrowing Steve's title, I thought it might be fun to explore the concept from my own personal experience of planting churches over the past twenty-two years or so. Squidoo allows me the freedom to put some ideas on the net, and solicit responses from others.
- Tony Blair's Extraordinary Role as Britain's Prime Minister
- Over the past ten years, Mr. Blair has been the target of mounting criticism within the United Kingdom for aligning himself so closely to President George W. Bush, especially in supporting the American "War on Terror." Take a closer look at this enigmatic leader of the United Kingdom.
- Understanding "Southern Talk" Without Moving to Dixie
- Anyone who has watched an episode of "The Beverly Hillbillies" realizes that the Clampetts speak a language of their own. But when I was growing up, it made perfect sense to me, because everyone I knew talked just like Granny and Jed. Now that I am a seasoned, world traveling American who lives in the United Kingdom, it has become painfully obvious that very few people are privileged enough to understand the "Southern" language. Some predict that this regional dialect is on its way to extinction, but I think not. This lens was produced to introduce you to the basic of "Southern Talk."
- Welsh Landscape Photography
- Wales is indescribably beautiful! Rolling hills, lush green pastures, millions of sheep, rocky coastlines, ancient narrow streets that wind through old mining villages, and vast acreages of public land populated with the offspring of the Welsh ponies used down in the coal mines.
- Yorkshire Terriers
- A wonderful, determined, fierce, and loving little breed of dogs.
