London Background

London () is the capital of England and the United Kingdom. It has been an influential city for two millennia and its history goes back to its founding by the Romans. The city's core, the ancient City of London, still retains its limited medieval boundaries. However, since at least the nineteenth century, the name "London" has also referred to the whole metropolis that has developed around it. Today the bulk of this conurbation forms the London metropolitan region and the Greater London administrative area, with its own elected mayor and assembly.

Everybody now understands that Climate Change is happening and the biggest culprits are humans. In some ways the financial crisis has been a good thing because it has cut down on the insatiable demand that was killing our planet. When things improve, lets how we all shall be more careful. I thought it a good idea to add to this London Lens, as everybody should see it.

A trip on the London Eye

I filmed this on a day off in London in September 2005. Taken from the top of the London Eye, with a good view across the city, and looking right down onto Parliament.

Hi there, not a bad lens. I would suggest use the TOC module instead of default TOC, and also putting a London A-Z guide in the London Amazon links. I will be writing more London Lenses to add below - lived here for 11 years now and have no plans to live anywhere else.
