Below Are a few tricks along the road that I have learned about to reduce the time I have to repaint my fingernails and get long lasting nail polish.

2. After nails are dry lightly buffer the top of the nails. This give the nail polish something to stick to so it can stay on longer.
3. Soak a cotton ball with vinegar or rubbing alcohol and lightly brush it on to nails. Wait for it to dry before going on to next step.
4. Apply a good quality base polish before applying color polish to the nails.
5. After base polish is dry, put on two coats of color polish then layer with good quality top coat polish. Let each coat dry before applying the next coat.
By doing it this way my nails usually lasted four to five days, longer if I was easy on the nails. This is how I did my nails before switching to doing my own gel nails at home for natural nails. Gel nails are more expensive to start with but gel nails can last three weeks, which is a great time saver.

- Avoid nail polish that advertizes that it is a fast drying polish. Fast drying polish tends to peal easier and may only last a day.
- Nail polish that is all in one is not always the best. Buy with speculation nail polishes that say they you do not need to apply a bottom and top coat.
- You get what you pay for. Budget and dollar store nail polish will not get you the results that buying a better product that is made to not chip.

- I wear nail polish a lot, so basically 2 to 3 times a month, since the nail polish usually lasts a week on me. When i don´t wear nail polish i think its 1 time a month.
