...but I took an inch off instead
I've done battle with my long curly hair for over 30 years. Now I wouldn't trade it in for anything. Find care tips, product recommendations and gorgeous celebrity styles here!
Want to straighten your long, curly hair?

I only recommend products that I've tried. Try these - I know you'll love them!
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum
Prep! Rub between hands and apply to damp hair. Keeps straight hair "skinny".
Paul Mitchell Straight Works
Prep3! So I've recommended 2 straightening products (Aveda Hang Straight and Paul Mitchell's Straight Works) - I love them both, and either will work. Paul Mitchell's Straight Works is gel-like. Add a quarter-size to your damp hair starting at the ends.
CHI Turbo Digital Microchip Ceramic Hairstyling Iron 1"
Style! My favorite, favorite hair straightening iron. This ceramic iron is actually cheaper than my purchase at Target by about $30! I love the silkiness of my hair after using this. You can also flip the ends of your hair!
Aveda Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade, 2.6 Ounces
Finish! Rub dime-size pomade between your hands. Starting with the ends of your dry hair and work your way up. Don't use too much! This is great for keeping the humidity away!
Keep it curly, not frizzy!

I love AVEDA! Here are some of my 'curly' hair products.
Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer (6.7 oz)
Prep: I love this! Keeps curls shiny and healthy-looking. Great bounce! Blow dry or air dry hair overnight.
Conair CHV14J Instant Heat Jumbo and Super Jumbo-Sized Rollers
I love these steamed rollers for softer waves for more formal events. Your hair should be dry when you style with these heated rollers.
Straightening Permanently - Thermal Reconditioning
Several well-known celebrities are claimed to have had it done - Gwyneth Paltrow, Catherine Zeta Jones and Jennifer Aniston.
The process produces results that can last from six to ten months. Whatever hair is treated will stay straight permanently and only the re-growth needs touching up.
The cost of this treatment ranges from $400 to the low $1,000, depending on the salon you choose. This is a chemical process (nothing natural about it), and takes approximately 6 hours.

- I love long hair. I used to have super mega long hair, unfortunately I lost several inches of it when our house burned down, cause my hair caught fire. It's only 22 inches now... still pretty long, but not like it used to be.
I would like my hair to some day be 40 to 50 inches long (to my knees) cause I really love long hair.
