- My best friends are my long distance friends. I've known them all for years too! They are better because it would seem that the friends I've met, kind of drifted to the wind over the years. So, my long distance friends are really the ones I talk too with regularity, where months could go by without hearing from the childhood pals.
They don't even know it since they don't even know I'm on squidoo. I know I'm weird. But, I value them far more than they'll ever know.

- This is a great lens, you just proof that you know to think outside the box, you treasure friendship, you have all the great qualities to be a "friend". I have a lot of long distance friends, and I make no distinction between face to face friends and long distance friends... It is true sometime I wish to see them and lean on them, but this don't change my friendship with them. Being born in Europe and living in USA, make me have a large variety of friends, and life itself teach me a good lesson about friendship.
I sprinkle angel dust Blessing this lens.

Michey

- Kim was right this is a wonderful lens on friendship, no matter if it is long distance friends or friends you see on a regular basis...these are all wonderful qualities to have in a friend and to be a friend. My favorite quote was: When life gives you 100 reasons to cry, show life there are 1,000 reasons to smile.
Kim and I had the pleasure of meeting face to face yesterday and she is exactly as I've known her to be online...kind, gentle, funny, and generous. And thank you for the long distance hug, Michelle!

- I do have long distance friends. My best friend still lives in NE while I live in CA. My kids and grandkids still live in NE, WI and CO while I live in CA. Although we don't see each other enough to hug, pinch cheeks and rub arms; we do make an effort to be in "communication" with each other. The modern wold of technology does wonders for that. However, I am on the Internet more than more kids are in terms of the "social" part; but I am continually working on that. And yes, I have new friends here that I met when we moved here and I am sure that I have friends that I haven't met yet. This is a beautiful lens with beautiful messages. I love the way you have combined messages, polls, and duels all in one to keep people interested and motivated.
5 old and new friends., 1 Fave, and lots of socializing (perhaps to meet new friends). Great job.

- Nice lens. I think I needed to read this tonight. Last year my best friend of 25 years betrayed me for her own gain. So right now, I trust no one. Sad but true. I prefer to call all the friends in my life acquaintances rather than friends...because at one point or another I think most of us have been betrayed by a "friend"...but rarely by an acquaintance. Nice job with this lens Willow.

- I have many friends I have never met, but a few I now talk to on the phone weekly....they have become a very important part of my life, and great resources. Not only that but we have built up trust, and can say anything without condemnation on anyone's part.
This was a really nice look into what you value......and as long as people write as they are, and not try to be what they aren't the 2 will match up like a puzzle piece if and when you ever meet them in person. I know as I have met a few of the people I blog with on another network. So nice when you meet and they are just what you thought :)

- Excellent lens! I have a few 'true-blue' life friends, of course, but since I became involved in the internet a year ago I have found people I've never met I now also call 'friends' in forums through my Etsy Shop and here on Squidoo through their lenses. It's actually quite amazing!
My favorite 'quote' you used here is the one by Dr. Suess -- I've had that one posted on my bulletin board at home for some time now. I also agree with 'optimism' and 'goal-setting'. Very well done. Thank you for sharing.

- My work as an online bookseller brings me into contact everyday with people I've never met, and some that I've later met in person. I am on several email discussion lists and have also made a few new "friends" on Facebook through the Bereaved Parents group. Some of these people I really do consider friends in the true sense because we do communicate from the heart and care for each other. Having common interests or experiences is a good basis for meeting people F2F or online. Personal communication that allows you to know each other lets you becomes real friends.
