And Please If you are a smoker reading this article, its about time you give up smoking because that on its own could be the reason why you are reading this article!! SMOKING DOES NOT HELP IN ANY WAYS....NO...IT JUST DOESN'T...So put an end to that if you really want to do yourself and others a BIG FAVOUR! And for your lips, Smoking just will make your lips age faster, Give you lines around your lips, Darken them and BAD BREATH!! It is just a complete NO NO NO!

There is no limit to how much fresh fruits and veggies you can eat a day, but for those who do not bother, they must learn to stick to the 5 a day at least. The benefits of fruits and vegetables is unlimited and we must consume enough of them to stay fit and healthy.

Besides that, your lips will look beautiful and attractive only if they are healthy. Applying makeup on dry chapped dark lips will not make them appear eye-catchy. It can only invite unwanted attention that brings forth the fact that your lips are dry and chapped. Refrain from licking your lips.

Here are some of my Lip care recipes that you can follow to keep your lips looking Healthy and Beautiful!

***Vanila & Honey Lipscrub***
This recipe is really easy to make and you can use it up to a week or more depending on the quantity.

You will need:
*Olive Oil [Extra virgin if available], but any organic olive oil will do.
*Sugar [Caster Sugar if available] and again that's not a problem, you can use any cooking sugars of your choice. But caster is what I use =]
*Any organic Honey
*Vanilla essence or any food flavouring of your choice.

What you need to do: In a small container, add one table spoon of sugar and two tablespoons of olive oil, 2-3 teaspoons of honey and mix it very well, add few drops of your favourite flavouring for good aroma and apply on your lips and exfoliate gently every day. Preferably in the mornings and before going to sleep. The liquidity of the scrub will vary depending on how much olive oil or sugar you add, it doesn't really matter how much, you can adjust it to suit your type.

For me, I would normally make sure that its not too runny or too solidified so that i can have good gentle exfoliation. You can use it up to a week or more if kept refrigerated. Use a toothbrush to gently exfoliate your lips with your fresh home made lip scrub. Lips are very sensitive, so Make sure that you don't apply too much pressure while exfoliating.

You can also add some almond oil to the recipe because it is acts as a great moisturiser and cures chapped lips.

Don`t forget to apply a good lip balm on your lips after exfoliating!

Now most people don't have beeswax in their homes but at least 9/10 houses will have Vaseline Petroleum Jelly...You can just buy a big one for one or two pounds or dollars or what ever and turn them into delicious organic lip balms for your whole family!!

You can use your empty lip balm containers to fill in your new lip balm recipe or buy them, they are not that expensive!

Take a small microwavable container and add about 1-2 teaspoons of Vaseline petroleum jelly [depending how much you want], then add about one tea spoon of olive oil and half tea spoon of honey and one tea spoon of almond oil. Microwave for about 30 seconds, Take it out and add few drops of your favourite food flavouring or if you can afford the expensive essential oils for long lasting aromas, you can add a drop of your favourite essential oil and stir it well and pour it into your empty lip balm container...and THERE...you have a healthy and delicious and inexpensive lip balm made out of your kitchen products!!

If you want to add some colour to your new home-made lip balm then you can scrape of some lipstick that you don't use any more and add it to the recipe for more of an exotic lip balm recipe!

Step1: EXFOLIATE!

Wet your lips and using a toothbrush, gently exfoliate your lips using the sugar and olive oil lip scrub recipe from this article or you can use your own lip scrub and exfoliate your lips to remove dead skin cells and make up.

Step 2: MOISTURISE!

After exfoliating, it is a must to moisturise whether its your lips or any part of your body, you must moisturise to prevent dry skin and loss of natural moisture from your skin. So apply lip balm and wait for about 30 seconds before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: CONCEALER!

Now that your lips are well moisturised and supple, apply a thin coat of concealer all over your lips, be careful not to cake it on though. Just enough to give a neutral base for your lipstick to hold on to.

Step 4: POWDER!

Apply some loose powder [Translucent or baby powder will do] to make the lip colour last long.

Step 5:LINE YOUR LIPS!

This step can be avoided if you don't have a liner available at that moment or you`re in a rush, but lining your lips will give a waxy base for your lipstick to hold on to and will make it last longer.

Step 6: LIPSTICK!

Fill in your lips with your chosen colour of lipstick and preferably with a lip brush. Blot gently with a tissue and reapply until you have the desired result.

Step 7: LIP GLOSS!

take some lip gloss, it doesn't have to be shiny or clear, which ever one that suits you will be fine and just apply a tiny amount on the middle of your lower lips and the upper lips.

FINALLY: WHITE EYE-SHADOW OR HIGHLIGHTER!

Now you can apply a tiny dot of white eye-shadow or highlighter on your cupid bow for more of a defined fuller plump lips!

Reapply lipstick/lip gloss throughout the day as needed especially after meals!
