What I like about Lorenzo Music

May people may have never heard of Lorenzo Music, though they most likely have heard his voice. Lorenzo was a voice actor who did the voice for the lovable fat cat Garfield until his death in 2001.

While Garfield is certainly a big set of shoes to fill Lorenzo also is known to Ghostbuster fans as the voice of Peter Venkman, who was played in the movie by Bill Murray. Murray in a quirky twist of fate is now the voice of Garfield.

There was one more voice Lorenzo would make famous, and in the process he would help try to save lives. As Larry the Crash Test Dummy he and his buddy Vince (voiced by Jack Burns) ran a series of "You could learn a lot from a dummy, buckle your safety belt" Messaged ads. These caught on quick as Lorenzo was well known at the time and the commercial would quickly grab peoples attention.

Aside from voice work though Lorenzo also did writting for such TV series as The Bob Newhart show as well as Mary Tyler Moore.

He started in acting in the 1960's but his big break came from a character no one ever really saw on the TV show Rhonda playing Carlton the Doorman. it was from this he decided to pursue a career of acting unseen as a voice actor.

While he possed many talents I think its fair to say as long as one Garfield fan remains around, Lorenzo will not be forgotten.

Mine came from a Garfield Episode (show below) where Garfield, John and Odie get swindled into a plane ride thinking they will end up in Miami and end up in Alaska.

I also love Garfield goes on Vacation (Or Garfield in Paradise). Lorenzo Music and Wolfman Jack..need I say more?
