The Lorex product works exactly as advertised! Surprisingly satisfying video for a cordless system! Good color, good contrast.
It works well in the room with lights on (I didn't try dark conditions as I don't need that) as well as outside.

There are a lot of opinions on this system and it made for a hard decision when buying it. We bought this the end of January and very happy with it. It is used on a daily basis and works everywhere in the house and around the outside of the house. Have not found any dead spots. The camera is on the 2nd floor and can take the monitor to the basement at the opposite end without a problem.

Camera quality is excellent in both bright light and total darkness. Most impressive is the night vision portion. I have seen reviews with complaints about the quality, I guess that they are expecting High-Def in a system, which it is not. When used as a baby monitor you can see everything clearly and know what is happening. One review mentioned that you cannot turn off the picture and it is bright in your room, use the scan feature and it is not a problem. The monitor will turn off until audio is detected and it will then turn it on.
