Lorwyn
Lorwyn is an Expansion Block for Wizards of the Coast collectable trading card game, Magic: the Gathering. Prerelease events were held on September 29th and 30th of 2007. Lorwyn rotated into standard legal play on October 20th after being officially released on October 12, 2007. The Nature of Lorwyn
Lorwyn is a small quiet world untouched by power hungry dictators. It is full of rolling meadows, green forest, and clear lakes; a modern day utopia to some. The weather is summer like year round, in fact the sun never quite sets, so it remains constantly daylight giving way to the inhabitants of Lorwyn which consist of fairies, elves, goblins, and various other woodland creatures. The elves of Lorwyn flourish in the mostly green environment. These elves, however, do differ vastly from the majority of elves we have encountered already on different planes.
The elves of Lorwyn are ruthless and predatory. They have mastered magical ways to combine the natural elements such as thorny vines with living creatures to create incredibly powerful creatures to do their bidding. They believe all other species are beneath them. Instead of the standard creature type of ELF, perhaps these new Lorwyn elves might be more appropriately labeled as Dark Elves.

Lorwyn - the Complete Story
The Elves of Lorwyn live in a world of unforgiving perfection. It is survival of the fittest and none, but the most beautiful and deadly are allowed to survive. So when an elf warrior's horns are shattered and his flawless features lost, he knows it is a death sentence. What he can't remember is how it happened or why he should allow himself to be killed. Powerful and ancient magic is at work, and the elf will need to find allies fast before his fellow elves quiet him forever.
