Drink at least 8 cups of water per day to banish the bulge

The vast majority of us drink 4 cups of water or less per day and are chronically dehydrated. Coffee, colas and other beverages do not count towards this 8 cup minimum. These beverages can be consumed in moderation but need to be in addition the the water.

Eat more fiber

Gradually add fiber rich foods to your diet. Foods such as fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains are high in fiber. Substitute whole grain bread for white, whole wheat pasta for semolina and try brown or wild rice instead of white rice.

Reduce the amount of processed food in your diet

Food manufacturers use cheap sugars and fat to replace more expensive and wholesome ingredients. The closer a food is to it's natural state the better it is for you. Shop the perimeter of the grocery store, avoiding the processed-food laden aisles in the middle. The typical grocery store is designed so you'll go up and down the aisles. Head right and make your way around the store in a counter-clockwise direction and you'll almost always find the fresh fruit, vegetables, lean meats and dairy.

Exercise moderately 3 times per week for 30 minutes or more

It's not necessary to head to the gym. A walk around the block, a bike ride, or simple calisthenics will do. It's important to elevate the heart beat and get the blood flowing for maximum fat burning. Choose an activity that you enjoy and you'll find it doesn't seem as exercise.

Increase Daily Activity

Walk instead of drive whenever possible. Park at the farthest point from your office, grocery store and wherever you go. Every step will help the you lose belly fat and lose weight.
