How to lose stomach fat and get ripped abs

Most people admire someone who is slim and trim, especially if they have a great set of abs. But, a lot of folks think it is too difficult for them to reach that level of health. It's really not that hard, but you gotta' have all the pieces of the puzzle together. That's why you need to know how to lose stomach fat and get ripped abs.

The good news is there are tons of information on the net on how to get fit. The problem is some of it is misleading and some is down right false. What I hope to do in this article is point you to the good guys and steer you away from the bad.

The absolute best place to start is with Mike Geary's "The Truth About Six Pack Abs".
Mike has been in the fitness business a long time and seen many programs come and go. So, over time Mike has developed a sense for what really works. His program gives you exactly what you need to know.

To get started download his FREE book "Insider Secrets for a Lean Body" and while you are there sign up for the FREE newsletter. I don't have much time, but I always read Mike's newsletter.

One of the keys is to watch for a balanced approached to losing weight and getting fit. It takes three things to reach your goal.

1. Proper nutrition
2. The right exercise program
3. The right mind-set

Proper Nutrition

There is no way around it...you gotta' have the right nutrition. You are only spinning your wheels if you don't.

What's the best "diet"? I strongly dislike the word diet. The health community has made it into a nasty word. Actually, diet is what you eat. That's your diet. Now, we have the Atkins diet, Zone diet, Nutrisystem diet, Weight Watchers, Grapefruit, 3-Hour diet...on into Infiniti am. No wonder people are confused and do not know what to do.

What's a person to do? It really is very simple. The right answers usually are, aren't they? Do away with the processed foods and go all natural. That means cutting the carbs, eat only quality carbs (like organic whole grains). No sugar. I know you don't think you can avoid sugar, but you can. Once you wean yourself from sugar it loses its power over you...really.

No fast foods. That stuff will kill you. Have you seen "Super Size Me"? No deep fried foods and cut the sodas (yes even "diet"). What can you eat? Stick with as much as you can of locally grown organic and grass fed food products. Look for farmer's markets. That way you can look the guy or gal in the eye that raises your food.

You will notice the change in your body almost immediately. You will be surprised and wonder why you were not eating like this before.

The Right Exercise Program

I mentioned Mike Geary before. He has one of the best, least expensive, most sensible programs out there. At least get his free book and newsletter.

Whatever you are considering run if they start telling you to get a bunch of equipment or you have to be in a gym. Wrong! The truth is if I had to take time to get in the car, drive several miles to the gym, change clothes, wait on a machine...well you get the picture. I just would not do it. If I can't do it at home it won't be done.

And throw away that super duper ab machine and all that other "get it quick" stuff that clutters your garage. Most of it does not work. All you need is your body weight, an exercise mat, a stability ball and a few dumbbells. You can get totally ripped with this equipment. You want to have a sexy trim balanced body. You get fit from head to toe not just abs or buns.

The Right Mind-Set

Forget this and all is lost. If you never believe you can look the way you want or that you just can't do it. Guess what? You are exactly right. If you do not let your mind know that that guy or gal in the picture is you...it's not going to happen.

Trot out those affirmations. Tell yourself that you weight, whatever your goal is, and do it several times a day. Pin a picture to the refrigerator, the mirror, your bedroom wall, on the steering wheel of the car, everywhere. Get it deep in your subconscious that that's who you now are and your mind will take you there. It may sound silly to you, but if you skip this part you will never reach your full potential. It's that important.

I wish you well you your journey to lose stomach fat and get ripped abs. I know you can do it if you follow these guide lines. And, be sure to get your FREE copy of "Insider Secrets for a Lean Body" , it's good stuff.

Ab Diet...The Truth In Four Easy Steps

Can you handle the truth? An ab diet is really the same thing as a healthy diet. I wish the health community had never started calling all the fad food diets, diets. Your diet is what you eat.

While you are here grab your FREE book "Insider Secrets for a Lean Body" will it is still available.

When someone talks about a diet it sounds like something special, or out of the ordinary. That's not true. Your diet is simply what you choose to eat for your meals and health. You might say your diet is unique to each individual.

So, you want great abs and a really healthy, good looking body. But, you don't want to be chasing some fad diet all the time. Well, the good news is you don't need to.

Let's make this simple. You don't need a "diet" someone made up to sell books. You need a eating plan you can stick to for life. So, let's make this simple.

1. Make sure you are consuming enough quality protein.
2. Eat all the vegetables you want. Preferably fresh.
3. Change to organic vegetables and grass fed meat.
4. Exercise.

Protein

Protein is the base for your body. You must have protein to build and maintain muscle. You got to have muscle to have those great abs and look good. That's what we want...right?

Eat the best quality protein you can afford. If at all possible eat only grass fed meat and deep sea cold water fish. When man started feeding grain to his livestock he changed the composition of the meat of that animal, which changed what we eat.

Vegetables

Most of us do not eat near enough vegetables. You can eat all the vegetables you want and not gain weight. Just make sure you are getting quality produce.

As man has repeatedly farmed the soil and removed nutrients from that soil, we have lost vitamins and minerals from our food. The best source of vegetables are organically raised. This means that the soil is naturally amended and that no pesticides or chemicals have been used to raise the produce.

Organic Vegetables and Grass Fed Meat

I highly recommend that you find a local source for your meat and vegetables. Today, there are many farmers concerned about the environment and what they are feeding their own families. This way you know where your food is coming from and who raised it. The food you buy in the grocery comes from all over the world and we have no idea how it was raised or handled.

Exercise

I know you don't want to hear this, but you have to exercise. Most of us have jobs where we get little exercise. So it is up to us to provide our body with the resistance it needs to maintain health. That's just the way we were designed.

Now you have the ab diet truth in four easy steps. There are tons of information available on diet and exercise. Unfortunately the majority is misleading or down right false. Be sure the guidance you follow match the four easy steps above.

Abs Workout For A Beginner

The abdominal crunch is not an abs workout for a beginner. Crunches can be a strain on the lower back if done incorrectly. Follow these steps to do a crunch correctly and you will have knock out abs.

Step one is to lay flat on your back with feet on floor and knees bent. Place to the sides of the head. Important...do not pull on your head. If you do you will strain your neck. Now, from this position flatten lower back against the floor, tighten stomach muscles and raise shoulders off of the floor. Keep neck straight and look to the ceiling. That is one rep.

Once this becomes too easy and you getting to higher reps I hold a weight on my chest to make it more difficult. You will see quick improvement in your stomach muscles.

A variation is to start in same beginning position and raise shoulders off floor. Now, turn upper body, aiming elbow towards opposite knee. This move reaches different muscles and gives a more balanced workout.

Let's hit the obliques. Lay on one side, legs extended, with knees slightly bent. Fold arms across your chest. Keeping head and neck straight raise shoulders off of the floor, as high as you can without strain. Repeat for 10 to 20 reps and do same exercise on both sides. When you reach 20 reps, rest for one minute and add another set.

As with the crunch, when you are reaching high reps add weight. I like to hold a weight against my chest and start over with one set.

To challenge and confuse your muscles and speed advancement in your training do the above exercises on a stability ball. A stability ball forces you to use more muscles to keep your balance on the ball. You will be amazed at the new muscles you will find. I suggest you try the ball after first strengthening your abs on the floor.

Nothing looks better than tight sexy abs. Try the above abs workout and you will be on your way to being the one lookin' fit.
